HOW HELPING WITHOUT EXPECTATIONS MADE ME MY FIRST SALE MONTHS AGO

If you are an affiliate marketer struggling with making first sale,this will help you.

A few months ago, when I started affiliate marketing I was clueless about it all as per newbie na😂😂😂

At that time I kept hearing "you don't sell by selling, you sell by helping". So I didn't fully understand what that meant at that time.

I was posting random contents on my status, yunno quotes and explaining what affiliate marketing is. I kept posting for months without fully understanding how to structure my content. I got some of my friends reaching out to me to ask about the business and how it works.

One of the days, one of my friends from secondary school reached out to me to " know more" about it. She was just asking questions and I was answering her and it got to the point where she said, she has little money and she wants to get a course to learn, she asked for advice on the course to get and I recommended a course to her and she got it
Immediately.

Comrades, that is how I got my first sale and you can apply it to to make yours.

You don't have to be rigid, help people as much as you can without expecting anything in return.

Be open minded and free with them too. Be genuine.

This is not limited to your first sale only, you can apply it to get more sales.

WHO ARE YOU SELLING TO?

Some days ago, a young lady reached out to me for help. As a graphic designer, she had issues with getting clients to pay for her services.

I found out that she needed to hone her skill more after she showed me some of the work she has done.

I went on to ask her some questions to help her and just like a lot of online entrepreneurs she wanted to serve everyone.

As an online entrepreneur, you should not caught up in that act of trying to serve everyone. Just imagine a physical product seller who wants to sell to everyone, imagine if you walked into a shop to get a specific thing and you see that the person selling is selling everything ranging from foodstuffs, clothes, shoes, bags, human hair, firewood, chemicals, electronics, generator, firewood, drugs, insecticides, to other things like housing materials. How would that look? That is exactly what it looks like when you try to sell to everyone at once.

If you needed 5 experts for a job and one person shows up and says that he can handle all of them, would you give him the job or would you rather hire 5 different experts to give you what you want?

I bet you're a bit like me who would prefer specific people to handle specific tasks. It just looks like they are better at what they do. That is what serving a specific audience positions you as.

SERVE A SPECIFIC AUDIENCE.

Don't try to sell your products and services to everyone even if you think it can help everyone. You can target the people that needs it most only or people who are likely to need it in the future and begin to educate them about it in preparation for when they need it. This way you will be at the top of their mind when they need it.

Find out a specific group of people to help.

EVERYONE IS NOT YOUR AUDIENCE, NICHE DOWN ON A SPECIFIC SET OF PEOPLE.

I SAW THE LIGHT 🌟🌟

A few months ago, I didn't have knowledge of a lot of things.

I was just like the average student who wanted to finish school and get a job.

Because of the course I'm studying in school, I already envisioned myself working with a food agency.

I didn't have exposure or access to a lot of information.

I just wanted to go to university for 5 years, go for service and get a job somewhere. I'd always loved professional jobs because of the respect and all that comes with them. I didn't think outside the box.
I saw people making money online and, of course, I no too reason am initially.

I decided to try it out at some point, and of course I got into ponzi schemes. No one told me that "money does not come that way". I mean, no one dashes free money to people on the internet. No one is looking for someone to spray some naira or dollars on. I mean, how would someone tell you to log in daily and read the news for daily income just like that?

If that was sustainable, no one would go through the stress of learning skills and other things.

Well....Ignorant Thessy did not know all of these things.

I went on to do them repeatedly until I got more exposed and realized that all those things did not work.

I didn't even think of learning skills because I was a student who loved free information. I didn't think online skills were for me, and even if I wanted to pay for information, I didn't have the money anywhere.
I was also in the gang of "I'm still a student" at that time.

Omoooo.... Thank God for showing me the light.

That is why I'm writing to you now...I want to show you the light too❤

You don't have to be a graduate to get skills online or start a business.

I'm no longer in that gang anymore. I'm in the group of "You can build a profitable business even without a school certificate."

I'm currently building my online business as a student, and you can do that too.

I've gone on to pay for courses and quality information to help me do better in a shorter time, and the results dey show. I had to save money to get some courses I wanted... and that is not the good part. The good part is that all the knowledge I've got is mine to keep, and I can keep using it to generate more results in years to come.

You can get similar results too. You just have to be ready and committed to doing it well. You can decide to master a skill to sell or sell information products to help people solve their problems.

"I'VE MADE MY FIRST SALE"

A couple of months ago, someone reached out to me from facebook.

We will call him Tobi because he wants to stay anonymous and of course, I have to respect that.

Apparently, Tobi is an affiliate marketer too. Just like a lot of affiliates, he had gotten loads and loads of courses and mentorships. He had reached out to almost every top affiliate on the platform he was an affiliate on, he even went on to pay for their classes and mentorships. He got almost the same information from them.

Did he automatically make his first sale? NO.

He had the shiny object syndrome which is a situation where you jump on every new information that promises results even when you know the exact thing you need to do but you've decided not to do it.

So Tobi reached out to me, he complained about everything that was happening. He opened up about it all. I asked him some questions and we got on a call where I extensively talked to him about what he needed to do.

We talked for few more times after that and one night, I came online to his message "I've made my first sale Mama".

He went on to give me the gist properly with so much excitement😊

I won't say he made the sale because of me, he also did the work for it. If he did not do the work and apply the needful things, he won't have made the sale.

It could be you but you think everything online is scam and you don't want to invest into learning properly.

A lot of people get into business with the hope that they can manipulate things and results will just come. It does not work that way, YOU MUST LEARN PROPERLY AND DO THE WORK TO GET RESULTS.

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT AFFILIATE MARKETING.

Wrong information about affiliate marketing has been spread across various platforms.

Here are things you need to know about affiliate marketing:
1. Affiliate marketing is not a skill, it is a business model.

2. Affiliate marketing is not an investment scheme, it is business.

3. You don't need any certificate to do affiliate marketing.

4. Affiliate marketing is not network marketing.

5. Affiliate marketing is not a ponzi scheme.

6. Affiliate marketing requires skills to run it properly.

7. Affiliate marketing can be done with products and services.

8. Affiliate marketing is not a platform.

9. You can earn in dollars with affiliate marketing.

10. There is no shortcut to success in this business, you have to do the required work.

I see a lot of affiliates promoting this business as if money comes on a platter of gold. It is a business and just like other businesses, you have to work.

Some people got into this business with the wrong mindset, they thought they will get a course and the heavens will open and dollars will begin to pour down for them. They could they would cashout weekly by getting a course. That is a lie, it does not work that way.

It does not happpen that way, you have to steadily build your business. You have to learn skills to run it, you have to implement what you have learnt.

HOW TO USE THE CLOSER FRAMEWORK TO GET BETTER RESULTS.

This will help you👇

It is called CLOSER framework and I learnt it from Alex Hormozi.

The sole aim of this framework is to help prospects make a buying desire by themselves.

CLOSER is an acronynm for this step by step process:
1. C- Clarify the reason they reached out to you: Help them to talk by asking questions. Don't sound pushy while doing this. Ask questions like:
a. What made you reach out to me?
b. What pain are you trying to avoid/solve?

2. L- Label them with a problem: When you do this, you show them that you are listening to them. Respond to them with questions like: So if i heard you correctly, XYZ is the problem?, From all you have said, it sounds like you want to achieve ABC, am I right?

3. O- Overview their painpoint: Find out how much it has affected them. Ask questions like:
a. How long have you had this issue?
b. What have you done to solve it?
Help them relax and reassure them that it is not their fault (people don't like to feel like they are are cause of their problems, they always want to shift the blame)

4. S- Sell them the outcome: Offer them your product as a solution. Don't talk much, go straight to the point. You can tell them a story of someone who had similar experience and got results from your offer.

5. E- Explain away their concerns: This is objection handling. Here you make them make a decision. Show them the value of your offer.

6. R- Reinforce their decision- Here you can make them to show commitment and decide to do their part. Give them a reason to buy from you. Here you also help them to avoid having buyer's regrets.

I've found out that the reason a lot of people get tired in their journey is lack of focus.

We can call this the shiny object syndrome.

Shiny object syndrome is the situation where people focus their attention on something current or trendy yet drop this as soon as something new takes its place.

If you want to make the most online, LASER FOCUS and CONSISTENCY are key things.

If you keep keep moving from one business to another, you will not get the most out of them.

Focus on one business.

Focus on one course.

Focus on one platform.

Focus on one mentor.

Focus on your process.

Focus on what you're doing until you get the most out of it.

READ ME🔥🔥

Productivity is simply acheiving a lot. It is working hard and getting the desired results.

If you take the right action towards the life you want, you will get the future you want.

I'll share with you 4 ways to achieve more👇👇

WAYS TO BE PRODUCTIVE
1. START MOVING: Action creates more action. Inaction creates more inaction.

We all know what we need to do to get the future we want.

It's really not easy to get moving if we are not currently moving.

You have to get the attitude to get things done without giving excuses.

Starve your distractions.

Take away anything stopping you from taking action.

You just need to notice that your productivity rate is low and start taking action.

Once you start moving, it gets easier to keep moving.

2. Work for 25 minutes and take a 5 minutes break.
This works so well....it is something you should start doing if you've not started.

It simply entails getting focused on only one thing for 25 minutes and taking 5 minutes off as a break.

You can use an alarm clock to do this.

Lack of proper time management makes productivity difficult.

You can use this technique to get 3-4 hours workdone without getting distracted.

3. Take note of your best time to get things done
We are all different people and we have different times when we can get a lot of work done.

I get work done better in the early hours of the morning and some other people can't get anything done before 10am.

Find out your best time to work and plan your day towards that.

Schedule your most important tasks to suit the time when your energy is high.

4. Plan your day ahead.
Don't get into your day without planning it out.

Prioritize the most important things and get them done first.

Plan your days ahead and follow through it from the most important task to the least so you can do the more important ones when your energy is high.

It will also be helpful to have a to-do list so you can measure your progress.
