Am I dying alone? Sometimes I feel I am dying.
I read the story of Dangote and the roadblocks he is facing in trying to bridge the yawning gap in Nigeria's refined petroleum products supply. Dangote is a great Entrepreneuer like myself and over much of the period of his spiralling rise, he rode on privileges unlike myself. I don't advocate he should be made to taste the pottage which we have been fed with; the thousands of jobs he has provided to ordinary Nigerians should cover multitude of sins. Should'nt Nigeria encourage Dangote in what he is doing, for the sake of public good, rather than placing roadblocks on his path?
As a Serial Entrepreneur, Inventor and Innovator, my head is always brimming. I can generate a unique business idea every forthnight but this environment so much discourages innovation and inventiveness.
I have a few business projects on the shelf. One is green energy project, an Electric Turbine for power generation and other energy propulsion applications, another is a nocturnal Solar Panel to power solar energy generation in the night, another is a Debit Instrument trading that can be used in converting corporate and national debts to assets. They are all on the shelf.
Now a Tech Startup in the social media space to empower SMEs that lie below the promotional cost benchmark of social media networks. This one is designed to fuel small scale enterprises and accelerate economic growth and inclusion. This high growth Tech Startup is projected to break even in the 5th month and make incredible $1,000,000 return per 1% equity holding in one year. These are the kind of things I do and the kind of things Nigeria likes to undo, somethimes with active collaboration of those who should have done better. Is it fair?
