AGRICULTURAL BOOST: DNU FOUNDATION FLAGS OFF DISTRIBUTION OF OVER 700 BAGS OF FERTILIZER TO FARMERS ACROSS THE 14 WARDS OF ABAKALIKI LGA
In a major boost to food security and rural agricultural development, the Coordinator of Fertilizer Distribution for the David Nweze Umahi (DNU) Foundation in Abakaliki Local Government Area, Engr. Anayo Felix Otta, has officially flagged off the distribution of over 700 bags of high-grade fertilizers to farmers across the 14 political wards of the LGA.
Addressing the enthusiastic beneficiaries, the Honourable Minister of Works, Senator Engineer David Nweze Umahi, CON, who was represented by the Member representing Ebonyi State at the Federal Character Commission, Prof. Chris Achi, expressed profound gratitude to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his deep love for the Southeast region, and Ebonyi State in particular.
Prof. Achi also commended the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, for his trailblazing developmental strides across the state under the People’s Charter of Needs. He charged the farming communities to remain steadfast in their support and ensure a landslide victory for Mr. President, Governor Nwifuru, and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2027 general elections.
While officially performing the flag-off ceremony, Engr. Felix Otta, alongside prominent stakeholder, Chief Kenneth Nwove, lauded the symbiotic relationship between the federal and state governments, driven locally by the Honourable Minister of Works. They praised Governor Nwifuru’s rapid rural transformation agenda and assured the leadership of a 100% electoral return from Abakaliki LGA for the ruling APC in 2027.
The beneficiaries poured out accolades for Senator Umahi and Governor Nwifuru, stating that the timed agricultural intervention would significantly increase their crop yields this farming season. They promised to reciprocate the gesture with massive votes for the APC at all levels.
The distribution exercise brought together notable political leaders, community stakeholders, and farmers from across the local government area, including Rt. Hon. Joseph Ununu, Member Representing Abakaliki South State Constituency, Hon. Peter Nwogbaga, SSA to the Governor on Education, Hon. Ben Nwove, SSA to the Governor on Infrastructure Maintenance, Hon. Maxwell Umahi, SSA to the Governor on Urban Development and Hon. Charles Akpuenika, former Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, among other top government functionaries.
