Some person might have wondered what the use of PowerPoint presentation is in data analytics

PowerPoint presentation packages are way more crucial to data analysis than most people admit. Analysis creates insight—but PowerPoint is often where that insight actually delivers value. Here’s why it matters so much

If you’re a beginner transitioning into data analytics, I want to share a roadmap that really helped me when I was starting out. It guided my learning step by step, and I genuinely believe it will be a great help to anyone looking to break into data analytics.

1. Excel

2. PowerBi/Tableau

3. PowerPoint

4. SQL (Structured query language)

5. Python

Some people often wonder which tools or packages to start learning, especially when beginning their journey in data analytics. I vividly remember how I started learning data analytics after attending a tech boot camp — and the rest was history.

If you’re a beginner starting out, I encourage you to begin with Microsoft Excel. Excel is much easier and more fun to learn. There is hardly any organization that doesn’t use Excel in one way or another. Even small businesses use it to document and structure their data in tables and to perform analysis.

Mastering Excel involves learning how to use formulas, Power Query for data cleaning, performing exploratory data analysis (EDA), creating data visualizations, and building dashboards — all of which are essential for effective data storytelling.

After Excel, move on to Power BI, a business intelligence tool used for data visualization. There are many visualization tools like Tableau and QlikView, but I recommend Power BI because it’s easier to transition from Excel to Power BI. Both tools are developed by Microsoft, and they share many similarities in their interface and the use of Power Query.

Once you’ve mastered these two, you can delve into SQL, which has a steeper learning curve compared to the others. However, mastering these three tools — Excel, Power BI, and SQL — is more than enough to land great opportunities in the data ecosystem, especially when combined with strong communication skills.

The primary goal of every business today is to generate profit. To achieve this, a business must offer a product or service that is in demand—something customers are not only interested in but also willing to pay for. At the heart of every successful business is a deep focus on the customer—understanding their needs, preferences, and purchasing behavior.

Knowing what customers want at any given time is a key driver of business growth.

A great example of this in action is Netflix. The platform leverages a variety of data-driven techniques to recommend content tailored to each user. It collects and analyzes user data such as watch history, ratings, search activity, and feedback (like thumbs up/down). By combining these insights, Netflix delivers personalized and engaging content recommendations that align with individual viewing habits—keeping users satisfied and coming back for more.

The project below, is a Customer Segmentation Analysis for a chips supermarket looking to better understand who their customers are and their purchasing behaviour across different customer types and life stages. The insight from the analysis will help feed into the supermarket strategic plan for the chip category in the next half year.

We all know that Telecom advertising/marketing is everywhere — one provider offers a better price; another promises better service. Some claim to be perfect, and tailor offers for small businesses, others for young urbanites. But what is it that customers truly want?

Telecom services and companies today are always eager and willing to improve on customer service. Yet when customers contact call centers, their concerns often cut through the noise: they want clarity, reliability, and fast resolution — not just marketing promises.

This project is a call center analysis for a call center organization who are looking to bring more transparency and insight into their teams performance using data.

In today’s digital world, content truly is king. With the rapid rise of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, people now have unprecedented power to create, share, and influence through content.

These platforms have transformed everyday users into content creators, thought leaders, and even brands of their own. Why? Because the world is constantly consuming and craving new, authentic, and impactful content.

Whether it's storytelling, education, entertainment, or inspiration, content drives conversations, shapes opinions, and connects communities across the globe.

in this project, I worked in a team of data professionals and was entrusted with handling the data analytics of this project.
