MAPOLY Set to Launch Nigeria's First 10Gbps Smart Campus Network on Thursday

Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, in partnership with the Advanced Technological Incubation and Research Center (ATIRC), have concluded arrangements to commission Nigeria's first enterprise-grade 10 Gigabits per second (10Gbps) Dedicated Smart Campus Network and Innovation Program on Thursday, July 30, 2026.

The landmark event, which forms part of the Management's ongoing efforts to reposition and transform the Polytechnic into a leading technology-driven institution, will take place at the Otunba Gbenga Daniel Auditorium by 11:00am. The ceremony is expected to host top government officials, captains of industry, development partners, technology experts, and other distinguished personalities.

It is noteworthy that the Polytechnic community is already benefiting from the pilot deployment of the 10Gbps Smart Campus Network, which delivers internet speeds of up to 10,000 megabits per second (Mbps). The cutting-edge infrastructure provides secure, reliable, and ultra-low-latency connectivity capable of supporting thousands of simultaneous users, advanced research, digital learning, innovation, and other data-intensive academic and administrative activities.

The Chairman of the Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, and the Rector, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso, will lead the Polytechnic community in welcoming guests to what promises to be a historic event in the institution's journey towards digital transformation.

Members of the Polytechnic community, researchers, innovators, entrepreneurs, students, members of the media, and the general public are cordially invited to witness this historic commissioning ceremony as MAPOLY, in collaboration with ATIRC, unveils Nigeria's first enterprise-grade 10Gbps Smart Campus Network, setting a new benchmark for digital infrastructure and innovation in higher education.

MAPOLY GOVERNING COUNCIL APPROVES APPOINTMENT OF 24 SENIOR ACADEMIC STAFF

Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, have approved the appointment of 24 Senior Academic Staff of the Polytechnic.

The approval was granted at the Council's statutory meeting held on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026.

The appointments comprise ten (10) Chief Lecturers, thirteen (13) Principal Lecturers, and one (1) Chief Technologist.

The appointments, which cover the 2022, 2023, and 2024 promotion years, take retrospective effect from 1st October of each respective year.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chairman of the Governing Council, Emeritus Professor Kamaldeen Balogun, reaffirmed the Council's commitment to ensuring that staff promotions and appointments are processed promptly as and when due.

According to him, the exercise is aimed not only at motivating staff but also at repositioning the Polytechnic to its rightful place among the comity of polytechnics in Nigeria.

He commended the dedication, resilience, and commitment of members of staff to the growth and development of the institution.

In his remarks, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Arc. Dr. 'Koye Jolaoso, congratulated the beneficiaries and reassured all staff members of the institution's commitment to fairness, equity, and justice. He urged the appointees to justify their appointments through greater dedication, enhanced productivity, and commitment to duty.

MAPOLY Sets June 12 Final Registration Deadline, Mid-Semester Test Begins June 22

Authorities of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta, hereby reiterate Friday, 12th June, 2026 as the final deadline for the payment of the outstanding 40% balance of school fees and the completion of registration for the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session.

It will be recalled that, in line with the approved Academic Calendar, the Second Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Session commenced on *Monday, 4th May, 2026*, while the deadline for the payment of the outstanding 40% balance of school fees and completion of registration was *Friday, 1st May, 2026*. However, Management has graciously extended the deadline to *Friday, 12th June, 2026*, to provide students with an additional opportunity to regularize their registration status.

Accordingly, Students in the National Diploma (ND) Full-Time and Part-Time programmes, as well as the Higher National Diploma (HND) Full-Time and Part-Time programmes, are advised to complete their registration on or before *Friday, 12th June, 2026*.

Management wishes to emphasize that *no further extension of the registration deadline will be granted*.

Students are also informed that the Mid-Semester Test for all categories of students is scheduled to hold from *Monday, 22nd to Friday, 26th June, 2026*.
