EPISODE 4 PREGNANCY PALAVA DAIRIES

TITLE: Antenatal Appointment Wahala

Today was antenatal.
I was ready 2 hours early. Full makeup. Nice gown. Even packed snacks "just in case".

Got to hospital 8am.
NURSE: "Your appointment is for 8am. You’re number 47."
ME: "47?? But it’s 8am now!"
NURSE: "Madam, sit down. They will call you.

Husband already regretting coming with me

10am: Still waiting. My leg is swelling.
12pm: They called number 12.
1pm: Hunger has caught me. My snacks finished. Baby is doing karate in my belly.
2pm: They finally called "Mrs number 47"

Doctor spent 3 minutes with me.
Checked BP. Checked weight. Listened to baby.
DOCTOR: "Everything is fine. See you next month."
ME: "That’s all?? After 6 hours??"
DOCTOR: smiles"Yes o. Pregnancy is well."

On our way out, I saw women with number 80+ still waiting.
HUSBAND: "Next time I’m not coming. I’ll be losing money at work for this."
ME: "But you need to hear the heartbeat too na" HUSBAND: I will hear my home at home.
