_Tinubu : There will be no strike_
ASUU : _Now! There Will be Strike_
Breaking Away from the Jinx-induced Cacophonous Government
Up till this very moment, nothing significant has come out of the Tinubu-led government with respect to the ASUU agitations. Despite all efforts, dialogues, threats etc, the government's recalcitrance continues even as we move towards the expiration of the strike-evoking deadline, which to many can turn out to be a fantom.
Come to think of it, Tinubu, allegedly, once said 'there will be no strike' and so has it been for ASUU. Like God who said 'let there be light and there was light', Nigeria's President audaciously revelled in the euphoria of thinking that his words had excelled in performativity and ASUU, of all unions, had been gagged permanently. Too bad where we are.
For us ASUU members, if we fail to proceed on strike now, it simply means we have been running a gagged Union. Can't we do our thing as ordained and break free from the quasi-jingoists and cacophonous 'politikal' demagogues of Nigerian 'demo-n-crazy'?
Is it not time we dropped off from the cyclical bus of endless fruitless meetings and meta-meetings with the stooges of obdurate tyranny?
Let's wedge the rolling empty drum that makes a meaningless noise in a polity that is bereft of form and wellness NOW and do our thing.
Walahi! ASUU must proceed on this strike this once after a long time of dilly-dallying in a quagmire of oblivion.
Walahi! ASUU must proceed on this strike to start the music that reverberates the insurrection of the unsung workaholics that are purely and disgracefully remunerated.
Walahi! ASUU must proceed on this strike to tell the whole world how petulant, non-challant and whimsical the Federal Government has been in sensitive matters of the nation; to show the failure of the orchestra of Senators in whose purses Nigerian currencies are stacked.
Let's break the jinx now!
