Most leaders want to be liked, approachable and supportive which is a good thing but it can build a sense of fear of disappointing people. As a leader you must learn how to disappoint people consciously. Even if you don’t learn it you still will if you lead long enough. So the question is whether you can do it responsibly.

Everyone looks for certainty when you are still figuring it out. There is the silence when you can’t fully share your doubts, or the silence after a difficult decision. It’s a personal burden. But it can remain a silence or a solitude. And that defines who the leader will eventually become.
