Reflecting on International Youth Day 2026 and the conversations around youth priorities in Nigeria.
YouPaD participated in the Youth Pulse Dialogue: Nigerian Youth at the Heart of National Development, hosted by the Youth Advisory Committee to the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Abuja.
We appreciate the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the Youth Advisory Committee for the invitation and opportunity to contribute to the panel discussion, “From Evidence to Impact: Advancing Youth Priorities through Policy and Development Partnerships.”
The dialogue explored youth priorities emerging from the Youth Pulse Survey, including jobs and skills, education, migration, food security, safety and governance.
The conversation reinforced a key message: youth participation must go beyond consultation, while evidence must translate into policy, programmes and action.

Today, YouPaD joined stakeholders from government, civil society, and development organisations at the National Stakeholders Dialogue on Real-Time Data for Environmental Governance to explore how real-time environmental data can drive evidence-based decision-making, improve regulatory action, and promote accountability in environmental governance.
With effective planning and collaboration from government, civil society, and the general public, we can build stronger partnerships that turn data into meaningful action for people and the planet.
