Recently, the UK time zone shifted — so my 7 p.m. class suddenly became 8 p.m. But what shocked me more wasn’t the time… it was my student’s mood!

He came online looking so off.
And you know me now — I quickly switched gears like an Agbero hailing an Odogwu 😄 “My guy! My top scholar! My number one brainbox!”

Immediately, he smiled and said, ‘Miss B, you’re too funny.’
That moment reminded me that online teaching isn’t just about lessons — it’s about connection.

No matter the distance, you must create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Because when your student feels seen, learning becomes easier.

Dear tutors, remember — you don’t just teach, you connect. Build relationships, not just routines.

Today, one of my students reminded me again that teaching is not just a job—it’s a calling.
She has an important exam on Monday, so we’ve been on intensive prep sessions for two weeks. She came to me through a referral, eager and determined.

When class ended and I bade her goodbye, she looked at me and said: “Pray for me.”
For a moment, I was surprised—she comes from a staunch Muslim home, yet she believed in the fact that I wasn’t just a teacher, but someone who genuinely loves to impact lives.

With her parents watching and the cameras recording, I simply declared:
👉🏽 “God will show you mercy and favor you. Go and excel.”

Her smile said it all. And my heart whispered back: This is why you teach.
It’s beyond academics. It’s about shaping futures, uplifting hearts, and leaving a mark that outlives the classroom.
Because for some of us, teaching is not just a profession—it’s a divine assignment.

📞 On Monday, I received a call from one of the schools my Mentor referred me to two years ago!
Honestly, I thought they had forgotten me 😅 but guess what? She said, “Of course not, we still have those decorations you did. We only adjusted a few when some fell off.”

✨ This time around, she wanted me to come train the teachers and supervise their décor.
And let me tell you, it was an awesome moment of teamwork + collaboration 💪🎉

They appreciated me because I don’t just rush through— I teach every pattern, every step, one at a time ⏳✍️. The transformation was clear! 🌈

Now they:
✔️ Pay attention to colours 🎨 (no more “just pick anything” 😂)
✔️ Sketch out design ideas first 📝
✔️ Avoid “too much that looks confusing” 👀

And that’s the beauty—when knowledge meets creativity! 🌟

Information they say is key, but many people are still playing with the lock 🔐—and so they don’t have access to that key.

In 2022, when I decided to start online tutoring, I attended trainings. I never got what I truly wanted. I attended another—she only asked me to watch Telegram videos. Still, no results.

Until I met my mentor. That was when everything changed. He broke down the process into simpler bits I could understand. From there,

I started professional development, attended more trainings, and grew faster than I imagined.
So when people say “you don’t need a mentor, just get a laptop” … trust me, it’s the long route. I’ve been there.

Just recently, someone reached out to me from a tutoring platform. It’s a 9-stage interview process. By stage 5, he was restricted for 6 months. He messaged me, but there was little I could do at that point. If he had asked earlier or sought guidance, he could have gotten through and started earning within 2 weeks.

In this age and time, save yourself the hassle. Get a mentor. It doesn’t just guide you—it accelerates your growth. 🚀

👉 My piece of advice: Don’t keep playing with the lock when the key is right in front of you.
