When I was a kid, I loved toys and games a lot. I was so particularly fond of the Monopoly that at the age of about 12 I remade the game into a Lagos version (complete with the Nigerian Currency): those days the prime location was Victoria Island (May Fair in my version), next Ikoyi, then Apapa.

Lagos Monopoly only became an official game nearly 28 years after my genius attempt!

Children not only learn through play, but the type of toys, games and leisure they are fond of reveals their natural aptitude. Sadly, teachers do not take notice of this and so most of what would have turned out a child’s genius are never discovered.

Purely for beginners, the Chat&Code series offers an inexpensive (data saver) way to learn while the lockdown order is in full effect. Our brains cannot be allowed to go into a lockdown mode. Not only is it a way to fill in the inactivity, but it is also a way to get us ready for times that have been thrown at us: the digital age.
