So, over the last weekend, I joined hundreds of other Participants and spent 5 hours each on Friday, Saturday and Sunday learning from and networking with a Marriage Counsellor and a Parenting Coach, Kunle Ologe and Wendy Ologe (Couple) who are Marriage Counsellor and Parenting Coach respectively.
After the general session, there was an exclusive session with Children/Teens Coaches, Mentors and Ministers, which I actively participated in.
I heard the Parenting Coach, Wendy Ologe say she charges N500,000 (approximately $350) per session and sometimes, she is overbooked with Clients both at Home and Abroad.
The Marriage Counsellor, Kunle Ologe didn't specifically mention how much he charges per session, but his conservation suggested the same range of fee and according to him, he sometimes get overwhelmed with appointments.
The honour they commanded throughout the sessions as authority figures and how participants felt honoured to identify with them, I can say come from three things:
1. The grace of God upon their lives
2. The clarity, confidence, competence and credibility they have built over the years doing what they love doing
3. The impact, influence and income they command doing what they love doing.
Through out the general and exclusive sessions, I intentionally ensured I didn't introduce myself as a Counsellor and a Coach, I was there strictly as a Learner. I asked two sensitive questions that I noticed drew keen attention and intetest from the audience but the Facilitators gave brief reply, because they are questions that require deep reply (meant for paid sessions).
I noticed, every time a sensitive question was asked, we got a brief reply, with a statement, "that question will be better handled in one on one sessions" (strategic).
I learnt so much about coaching, counselling and a business approach to impact and influence.
Coaching and Counselling are sweeter with balance of impact, influence and income.
