Do you know that yam sack farming is one of the biggest blessings that happened to urban farming in recent years?

Given the cost of buying 1 piece of yam in the market and the high demand of it, it is one of the most versatile loved food in Nigeria, Africa and even globally.

with yam sack farming, you don't need large space of land, expertise, sticks, heaps, hoes, cutlass and all the things that makes it really stressful, all you need is sack, soil, yam seeds or heads from the ones you ate before and a small space, maybe by your fence to grow this delicious beauty. when grown during the rainy season, you may not need to water it, no weeding, even if you must, just few Minutes to remove one or 2 grasses from inside the bag and the environs, way easier than the conventional method.

Etema farms grew about 30bags last year, and we had amazing results, this year in April/may we took it to a whole 110 bags😅🤗 and we are counting few months to harvest already, infact, the soil in the sacks have started cracking, showing that the yams are getting bigger inside the sacks, we are tempted to open and try one already 😅 but, no, we will wait a month or so more.

Yam sack farming can be done all through the year, but if you don't want the stress of watering it or you are not always around, you can begin growing them just before the rains become established, in Abuja, that would be may, in your own location, it may be before or after, in which ever area or part of the world you are, you could try growing it, tap into this blessing of urban farming innovation 💪
