As Nigeria celebrates Democracy Day today, I have spent much of the day reflecting on a question that continues to occupy my mind: Are we truly enjoying the dividends of democracy?

Having traveled to different countries and witnessed how citizens benefit from effective democratic governance, I often ask myself: What is holding Nigeria back?

That question inspired my decision to venture into politics in 2023, when I contested for the Senate seat in the FCT under APGA. Today, I remain committed to that vision as the NDC candidate for the AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency.

Despite the challenges, we must not give up on Nigeria. We must continue to believe in our dreams and aspirations for a better nation—one where democracy delivers real opportunities, development, security, and prosperity for all.

As we mark this important day, let us renew our commitment to building the Nigeria we all deserve.

Congratulations to all Nigerians, and best wishes on this Democracy Day.

I joined Aisha Yesufu to embark on an appreciation visit to the EXCOs of NDC AMAC just to say thank you to them for the support they gave me during the primary election.
