The greatest blunder we make in this generation is the quick urge to say
"I can never work for anybody"
When I hear people say that with so much resolve, I chuckle
For the most part of it, this statement comes from a place of pride.
This is the reason why people go into business with self serving bias and bloated ego instead of a service oriented mindset.
So at the fourth quarter of my NYSC year, I asked Sarah a member of our 5-woman cohort why she has resolved to not work with any firm
She gave the popular tripod of reasons
I no fit call anybody Sir o (Pride)
I cannot have anybody tell me when to resume and close (Indiscipline)
I can never depend on salary (mismanagement)
On the flip side, while these are also valid goals but what is the intention, I mean the motive for wanting to start your own hustle?
Do you really want to build wealth and have freedom or you hate responsibility and discipline
Businesses are anthropocentric (man centered) you must work for and with people
The reality is that we are all working for and with people (business owners and employees)
At start-up phase and even beyond
If you don't learn how to pay yourself (salary) and keep good account of your earning, you will mismanage the business and crumble
If you don't show up at the right time or you don't show respect to ur customers, competition will remind you why you are in business
So My darling entrepreneur;
if avoiding discipline from a superior is your only drive for starting a business,
You should go and take all that "bu****it" from a Boss and annoying Colleagues
It will MOULD you
