Why most VAs or Service pros struggle to get clients...

So one of my students reached out to me with a message that he's yet to get a client since taking my class and that my class was a waste of his time ๐Ÿ˜€... And after a few questions, he himself realized he's not putting in half as much work as other VAs and service providers who are getting results

If you're not getting client, it may well be because:

1. You're not differentiating yourself enough, so you sound like everyone else. Your messaging isn't clear, so clients don't know exactly what you do and how you help.

2. You speak your language (the expert language), not your audiences (VAs note: nobody wakes up saying, today I'm going to hire a VA to help with my website, blog, social media or admin type tasks!). And it's worse if you're sounding too big for them and cannot speak to their pain.

3. You are not visible. Nobody knows you or your services. Or you haven't nurtured your audience enough and shown them why your services is what they need.

You have to constantly and consistently warm up your audience by talking about why they need those services or the impact it could have in their business. Build the awareness in their language.

4. You are desperate and desperation is a red flag for most prospects. You want quick money. You enrolled in that course (any course at all) because you've read or heard that people are cashing out in $$$ as VAs. And so you envisioned an easy route to wealth as opposed to a business you need to build and allow to grow overtime.

5. You only look for client when you need money instead of thinking about your clients' journey.

6. You don't articulate the RESULT your clients will get from working with you.

7. You're attracting the same audience as everyone else instead of hyper-targeting.

8. You probably have a lot of inner work to do too! (Yes, your inner game is crucial if you must succeed in anything you want to do).

9. You're not selling enough -- posting sales posts, making offers, asking for the sale, scheduling enough calls, etc.

10. People literally just don't know you exist because you post and ghost or don't post at all.

Most people who show up with this complains don't have an active social media presence, don't have a website, email list, or anything that allows them to put the words out for their businesses either organically or with ads, and they are not active on platforms where they can find clients.

So, how do you expect clients to find you and trust you with their business when you can't even do the work.

EVERYTHING listed in this post are ALL fixable with strategy.

Fact is,
You are going to have months with no clients.

You are going to have months with many clients.

You're going to have months where your non-money personal and life issues creeps in slowly then all at once leaving you with nothing other than taking a break,

You are going to lack motivation sometimes.

You are going to be super motivated sometimes.

I see many people make the mistake of saying they teach 'virtual assistant skill' and I'll be like what?? It's now a skill?? A digital or tech skill?

You need skills to work online as a VA, or even be called a VA!

You don't teach people 'the VA skill' but you teach them how to become a VA, how to package the skills they have and offer it as a service, best practices and other things they'll need to run a successful business.

A virtual assistant is someone, anyone - a business owner- who offers their services online to help, assist or support other business owners or individuals in any given area of their business or lives that they are not skilled for or do not have the time to handle alone.

Interested in Selling Digital Products, but not sure what to create?

Creating digital products is one way you can monetize what you know.

Even as a coach, VA, or service provider, you can create digital products and sell them to people who want to work with you but can't afford your services.

Here are some examples of what you could create with different industries:

1. Copywriter
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 1: Website copy toolkit (plug-n-play templates, and tools people can use to write their website copies on their own)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 2: A video training or step-by-step ebook guide on how to effectively write copies for your business (sales, email and website copies).

2. Personal Growth or Mindset Coach

๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 2: Change your Life in a Year Toolkit (yearly, monthly, weekly, and daily planner, productivity planner, goal setting worksheet, habits tracker, a guide to help you set and achieve your goals, my framework for silencing self-doubt, inner critic and negative self-talk and an accountability group)

3. Hairstylist
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 1: DIY Hair Makeover: (a step-by-step video on how to care for your hair + common mistakes to avoid and recommended products for healthy hair)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 2: 100 Style inspiration (a step-by-step hair styling picture guide to help you style your own hair and look confident and beautiful on every occasion)

4. Baker
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 1: E-book: The Ultimate Guide to Starting Your Own Home Cake Business (how-tos, tips, step-by-step guide, and essential tools you need to get started as a new baker).
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 2: Recipe Book (100+ delicious, melt-in-the-mouth, and fail-proof cake and pastry recipes you can bake at home and enjoy with your loved ones or bake for clients)

5. Photographer
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 1: Posing Guide (Self-Portraits for Business Owners, guides and inspirations to help you get the best photos from your sessions)
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 2: Presets (Now you can edit your photos like a pro and get professional-looking pictures with these Photoshop or Lightroom presets)

6. Tech VA or Website Designer
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 1: WordPress for Beginners (Can't afford to hire a web designer or Tech VA for your WordPress website? Learn how to build and maintain it yourself with this beginner-friendly tutorial).
๐Ÿ‘‰ Product idea 2: Step-by-step guide to using Kajabi to set up your course like a pro

There are so many ways you can profitably monetize any skill, expertise, or knowledge online. You just need to pick one and run with it.

I still maintain my stance on the fact that EVERY skill or knowledge is monetizable online.

Find out how to monetize what you already know.

The past is only as valuable (or detrimental) as the meaning you give it.

If you choose to make your previous failures mean you arenโ€™t capable, youโ€™re placing yourself in a hamster wheel of broken self-confidence.

If you choose to make your past heartbreak mean that you arenโ€™t worthy of love, you will find yourself sabotaging new relationships.

The past is only as valuable as the meaning you give it.

So today,
๐Ÿ‘‰ I encourage you to take a look at what has happened and consciously choose what meaning you assign to it.
๐Ÿ‘‰ Intentionally select the lessons you desire to integrate and embody moving forward.

You donโ€™t need to wait.
You can make these choices now.

''Blogging is dead.โ€

โ€œsocial media and Ai is killing blogs and the need for it...โ€

โ€œItโ€™s too late to start a blog.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s just too much competition already out there.โ€

"I'm already making money on Instagram, FB ..."

"Blogging is a waste of time..."

"I already sell my products/services online-- that's 'online' business, I don't need a blog.."

"Social media is here to stay.. blogs are outdated.."

Do any of these sentences sound familiar?

They do to me because I hear things like that ALL. THE. TIME.

Whether it is from my clients, or prospective students, or Facebook friends, or just in all those blogging and online business circles, those self-defeating talks that blogging is no longer a โ€œthingโ€ have been around for years.

But guess what? Blogging isnโ€™t dead! People are launching new blogs โ€” and finding incredible success โ€” every single day.

And all those naysayers that perpetually claim it's no longer possible to make legit income blogging?

Well, let them talk.

Because itโ€™s way easier to focus on the negative than it is to actually dig in and do the work. It's way easier to claim something doesn't work than it is to try.

But hereโ€™s the truth:

Thereโ€™s never been a better time to be a blogger than right now.

Why don't you have a blog for your business?

1: Put your social media profiles in order.

If you are just starting out and don't yet have a website, your social media profile can act as your portfolio and helps you sell your services, as prospective clients will probably check you out on socials before hiring you.

Does your profile sell you as the VA? Does it put you out there as the VA they absolutely must hire? Does your bio say who you help and what exactly you do for them?

Your social media must leave no doubt as to who you are and what you do. Your posts should show that you are good with your stuff and are credible.

Your profiles should do one thing only, inspire confidence in your ability to deliver what needs to get done.

2: Join online Groups and communities.

Groups and communities on Facebook and LinkedIn are a fantastic place to find paying clients.

The key to using this groups lies with finding the right group-one that has your target clients in it and establishing yourself as the expert. Do this smartly and you will get booked out in days.

3: Run Ads

If you use social media to promote your business (which you should, if you donโ€™t already) you can't just depend solely on organic traffic.

The algorithms only allows about 10% of your followers see your post at any time, that is too low for you to earn a living off.

It is important to increase your visibility and put your business before as many people as possible. Ads can also include sponsoring a post on an influencerโ€™s page. Anything to put your business in front of a new audience.

There you go!

3 steps to help you book new clients for your service based business.

I go deeper into how to use each of this tips and the other ones in my VA class.
