Victore Osimhen and The Unproductive Ego
Pride goes before a fall! It is so unfortunate that Africans have a problem with ego being hyped or praised. Most of us lose our sense of purpose, responsibility and humility. Osimhen needs to be able to bridle him complacency on the pitch vis a vis arrogance if we would go beyond this level (Round of 16). Many people have lost faith in that team because of their comparatively and ridiculously low energy and passion put into most of the matches payed so far.
Featuring Osimhen in the AFCON for Super Eagles has really been almost underproductive. The complacency with which he conduct himself on the pitch contrary to the spirited commitment and zest or players of teams like Namibia, Cameron, Gambia, Cape Verde, etc is worrisome.
Starting him up with the team in our encounter with Cameron may be our undoing. Beat to leave him on the bench for the first 30 minutes to trigger a sense of humility and responsibility in him..... Else, we may end up with a stories that touch..... The kind of passion with which our boys play is just so ridiculously low that one may not see Nigeria going beyond the Round of 16
