Achievers have it in mind that in order to achieve their goals, they must withdraw attention from non-goal activities. There are many interests competing for your attention: 1.) External factors such as friends, family, co-workers, random strangers, organisations, government agencies, media etc. 2.) Internal factors such as emotional needs, psychological needs, habitual needs & cravings - sleep, bathe, eat etc. Somewhere along those competing interests are your goal-oriented nature, your greater intelligence, your desire to live a life rich in meaning and purpose. This side of you craves achievement and won't be satisfied by anything less. It wants you to set your own goals and to reach, attain and accomplish them.
Achievers know that competing interests may resist being put aside as these hidden distractions can easily sidetrack you. Attention is a limited resource, one has to learn to consciously direct your energy and focus to opportunities that align solidly with your goals rather than those that seem off-course with respect to your current goals thereby causing divided attention and achieving less.
If you starve the achievement-oriented part of yourself for attention, it will punish you with low motivation, low self-worth, and a general scarcity of resources. But if you give it the attention it craves, you will rewarded with high energy, drive, passion, abundance, and a sense of purpose and contribution.

You become an achiever by reaching, attaining, or accomplishing your set goal. However, what you choose to achieve is up to you. Difference between achievers and a non-achievers is largely a matter of attention. Non-achievers give little or no attention to their set goals thereby missing their targets by achieving something other than their goals or often accomplishing someone's goal without consciously making those goals their own whereas Achievers give detailed and sufficient attention to their set goals in other to accomplish it; this means, they withdraw much attention from activities that are not directly leading to the accomplishments of their goals.
Question:1.) In a given week, where is your attention going?
2.) Do you have short and long term goals that you obsess over?

My Taxi Tale!
I was on my way out one very good afternoon to meet my friends, and I stopped a cab. (You know there's a difference between cab and taxi). So this guy pulled over, the driver was very good looking, well spoken with a good dress sense in a clean car. At first I was reluctant but I eventually told him my destination when he asked a second time. He gave me his price which was two times the normal price I would pay for a taxi but because of the packaging, I had to price with dignity and then we agreed to a price still high though but less than the asking price. As we drove, driver started catching feelings and chitchatting. Well, as the employer sitting at the car owner seat, I was being careful not to be too friendly but bros has got charms. So, after the plenty nice talks, we exchanged numbers. Then, we began phone conversations and after a while we lost touch because of my shakara. But bros wanted to make sure that I know the importance of little beginnings, so after some months, I got a strange call from a number that looked foreign, behold it was Frank the cab guy on the otherside. Telling me he's offshore working with a foreign oil drilling company. Well, to talk true, I was excited but I still had to be firm but soft. We later got talking at wee hours and I started catching feelings... suddenly this bros just cut off at the time I became charmed and then it dawned on me that he only showed up just to run his success in my face. Shwewww!!!
