Today, May 27th is the children's day. All our children are out of school due to COVID-19 lockdown. Only a small fraction of Nigerian children are exposed to quality education, several thousands are educated poorly yet, millions are not exposed to any form of western education at all. Millions of Nigerian children are labelled Almajairi, sent to the homes Islamic teachers to learn the Qur'an under the most horrific conditions. These poor children are unloved, undated for, unnurtured, malnourished, hopeless and helpless. They are daily exposed to the vagaries of street life learning to survive by begging or stealing. By the time they become teenagers they are ready to be recruited into various criminal outfits. And why won't they be recruited? When for the first time someone gives them hope of being rewarded with 70 virgins in heaven if they blow themselves up as su***de bombers.Meanwhile, the elites send their own children to the best and most expensive schools all over the world.
Yet, the large sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo has said that the children of the poor that we refuse to train will pose great danger to our children. And we are seeing the proceeds of this inaction now. May God deliver and protect us from all criminal elements in our society. And May the Lord give our leaders the wisdom and the conscience to do the right thing bybour children in Jesus name. The dry season is here, let parents pay more attention to their children. There are more incidences of coughs and catarrhs, more asthmatic attacks, and drier skin. So let's keep the skin smooth and supple with creams and keep children away from things that can sensitise them such as dust, smokes, fumes, parties, new paints etc
