Different Contexts, Common Aspirations: Our Picture in Nigeria’s Future.

What does Nigeria’s future look like through the eyes of its young people?

On 2026, Impact Hub Abuja Youth Central Hub Citizen Central Media brought together young Nigerians from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds, professions, abilities and life experiences for an honest and thought-provoking roundtable conversation.

The central question was simple but important: Despite the different circumstances in which young Nigerians live, what do we collectively want for our future—and what role are we prepared to play in creating it?

From conversations around opportunity, leadership and active citizenship to the realities shaping young people’s everyday lives, the discussion reminded us that while our contexts may be different, many of our aspirations are remarkably similar.

We want a Nigeria where young people can learn, work, innovate, participate, lead and build meaningful lives.

But aspiration must be matched by action.

Young Nigerians are not simply waiting for the future to happen. We are already shaping it—in our communities, businesses, institutions, creative spaces, technology, media and civic movements.

The challenge is to create more platforms where young people can speak, listen to one another, influence decisions and collaborate across our differences.

Yesterday, our team at Impact Hub Abuja Olalekan Oshunkoya had a productive engagement with the Director-General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority (NTDA) Tour Nigeria™ 🇳🇬 Olayiwola Awakan GrPr on ways to support small and medium-scale entrepreneurs to drive sustainable tourism development in Nigeria.

The conversation explored opportunities to strengthen the ecosystem around tourism entrepreneurs—through innovation, skills development, access to markets, partnerships and new opportunities for growth.

Nigeria’s tourism sector holds significant potential to create jobs, empower communities and unlock new pathways for inclusive economic development. SMEs and local entrepreneurs will be at the heart of making this potential a reality.

When entrepreneurs thrive, communities thrive.

We look forward to building stronger partnerships with the NTDA and other stakeholders to support entrepreneurs and contribute to a more inclusive, innovative and sustainable tourism ecosystem in Nigeria.

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome the Hon. Minister of Youth Development Olawande Emmanuel Ayodele Com Ayodele Olawande, to Impact Hub Abuja.

The Minister spent almost three hours engaging with our community of young entrepreneurs, social innovators and emerging leaders—listening to their ideas, challenges and aspirations for Nigeria.

We also had the opportunity to showcase Youth Central Hub, our flagship collaborative initiative designed to expand access to digital innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership and opportunities for young Nigerians, wherever they are.

The visit builds on our engagement with the Honourable Minister’s office last week and opens the door for deeper collaboration to create more opportunities for Nigeria’s young people.

We appreciate the Minister’s time, openness and commitment to youth development.
