Day 5 at AACIS ‘26: Strengthening Systems for Shaping Global Influence

Day 5 of AACIS ‘26 focused on the policies, institutions, and financial systems required to sustain and scale Afri-Caribbean collaboration.

The day spotlighted the critical role of government agencies and financial institutions in shaping a unified and competitive transatlantic economic corridor.
It reinforced the idea that when both regions align strategically, they do not just participate in global markets, they help define them.

Discussions throughout the day centered on:
• Strengthening policy frameworks to enable seamless trade and investment
• Leveraging development finance institutions to unlock capital flows
• Building bankable trade corridors supported by efficient payment systems and cross-border infrastructure.

The presence of institutions such as the Bank of Industry, Nigerian Export-Import Bank, and PAPSS emphasized the importance of coordinated systems that enable trade to move from intention to ex*****on.

At the same time, strong private sector representation in a fire side chat with Ms. Amina Maina and Dr. Kenneth Mugambi reinforced the critical truth that while policy sets the foundation, the private sector is, and will continue to be, the engine that drives trade integration between the region and the continent.

A defining moment was the MOU Signing between the Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission and the Grenada Investment Development Corporation, cementing partnerships and signaling continued commitment to long-term collaboration beyond the summit.

Sustainable Afri-Caribbean integration will be built on strong systems, aligned frameworks, and bold partnerships.

Day 4 of AACIS '26 brought one of the summit's most substantive conversations yet.

A major panel brought together global investors and industry leaders to wrestle with the mechanics of capital deployment for Afri-Caribbean industrial growth. The message that came through clearly was that capital, to be transformative, has to be intentional — structured around real development outcomes, not just returns.

Financial architecture was a significant thread throughout the day, particularly in agriculture. Drawing on proven risk-sharing models, speakers like Mr Ewaen Imohe, Dr M'zee Fula-Ngenge and Mr Adam Molai made the case for building the institutional frameworks that can sustain cross-border trade and investment at scale.

The day also expanded the investment conversation into health and human capital. Nigeria's Hon. Min. of State for Health, Dr. Iziak Adekunle Salako, was among the key voices in sessions that addressed healthcare systems, medical education, cancer care, and sickle cell disease reinforcing that sustainable development cannot be separated from the systems that keep people alive and educated.

Professor Fatima Kyari's address on building Nigeria's next generation of mega medical schools added an important dimension: that the continent's investment in health infrastructure must extend to how it trains the professionals who will run it.

The throughline across Day 4 was integration, finance, health, agriculture, and human capacity, not as separate agendas, but as one.

Cultural exchange is at the heart of our vision to build a true transatlantic bridge—connecting Africa and the Caribbean not just in trade, but in identity, history, and shared purpose.

We believe that understanding each other begins with a simple truth: we are one people.

Over 400 years ago, we were torn apart—families, communities, and generations separated across oceans. On one side, lives were forcibly taken; on the other, loved ones were left behind. Both carried the weight of loss, the silence of absence, and the enduring pain of separation that has echoed through generations.

Today, we choose to turn the page.

We are writing a new chapter—one that is rooted in unity, driven by collaboration, and filled with opportunity. A chapter where we reconnect, exchange culture and knowledge, trade and invest together, and build partnerships that will stand the test of time.

This powerful performance was more than art—it was a bridge between past and present. Brought to life by the Conception Dance Theatre of Grenada and the Blackbones Group of Abuja, it reflected our shared history, our present efforts, and the promise of our future.

To our Caribbean brothers and sisters—welcome home. 🌍✨

The Anoora Ambassadors - 15 year olds from Nigeria and St. Kitts and Nevis under the Miss Maina Anoora Foundation - are a growing network of youth leaders guided by values of respect, dignity, cultural pride, unity, sustainability, and empathy. Through the Foundation, they are being equipped to lead with purpose, preserve shared heritage, and foster meaningful cross-cultural connections.

On Day 2 of AACIS ‘26, these ambassadors came together in pairs, one Nigerian and one Kittitian, to plant trees, reflecting the core vision of the Summit: building a transatlantic bridge that carries more than goods or products but one that is rooted in cultural heritage and a shared vision for long term unity.

This moment speaks directly to the Foundation’s broader objectives—deepening cultural awareness, preserving heritage, nurturing creative expression, promoting environmental stewardship, and developing a new generation of leaders committed to collaboration and continuity.

The tree planting is both symbolic and practical. It represents a shared responsibility to not only build connections today, but to sustain them for the future. By investing in these young ambassadors, AACIS and the Miss Maina Anoora Foundation are ensuring that the bridge between Africa and the Caribbean is not only established, but continuously strengthened through people, shared values, and intentional action.

Day 3 at AACIS ‘26: The Official Opening

The official opening of the Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit 2026 marked a powerful convergence of leadership, vision, and opportunity, with high-level representation from across Africa and the Caribbean, underscoring the strategic importance of this growing transatlantic partnership.

The day’s focus - Unlocking Investment Opportunities Through Agriculture - positioned food systems, agribusiness, and trade as critical pillars for economic transformation.

From keynote addresses to strategic panels, a clear narrative emerged:
Food security is economic security.

Leaders across government, finance, and development institutions explored how Africa and the Caribbean can leverage shared strengths in agriculture to drive food sovereignty, boost intra-regional trade, and build resilient economies.

A major highlight was the lineup of keynote speakers representing Afreximbank - reinforcing the role of financial institutions in enabling large-scale trade and investment, - various Caribbean heads of government and government officials, and His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, whose address bridged culture, heritage, and economic growth.

Beyond policy and finance, discussions throughout the day emphasized regional transformation: reimagining a shared destiny through deeper cooperation, coordinated investment strategies, and stronger institutional partnerships.

From agriculture and food systems to culture and trade, the official opening reaffirmed one central truth:
The future of Afri-Caribbean prosperity will be built on collaboration, capital, and collective vision.

The second day of the Aquarian Consult Afri-Caribbean Investment Summit 2026 centred on one of the most critical questions facing both regions: how do you turn relationships into results, and dialogue into investment?

Speakers included Ms. Hilda Dokubo, Ms. Aisha Augie, and Dr. Jide Okeke.

Throughout the day, conversations deepened around storytelling as strategy and the role of the creative economy as a driver of trade. From policy to practice, speakers highlighted the urgent need to structure creative industries for scale, supported by financing models that understand both cultural value and commercial viability.

Sessions on access to finance placed a strong emphasis on unlocking capital for creatives and building investment-ready ecosystems. The message was direct: without intentional financing frameworks, the full potential of the creative economy cannot be realised. The Summit also expanded the conversation beyond creatives, highlighting climate-resilient agriculture as a critical area for private sector investment and cross-regional collaboration.

But the defining moment of the day, and perhaps one of the most significant of the entire summit, came with the formal announcement and signing of the "Afri-Caribbean Creative Economy Development Initiative."

Working Capital Partners (WCP), Aquarian Consult Limited, and the Ministry of Small Business, Entrepreneurship, Cooperatives and the Creative Economy of Saint Kitts and Nevis announced the launch of this new cross-regional collaboration, designed to strengthen the economic infrastructure supporting creative industries across Africa and the Caribbean.

At its centre: a proposed Asset-Backed Credit Line (ACL) facility of up to "$2 billion USD", structured to provide working capital solutions for music labels, artists and creative entrepreneurs operating within the rapidly expanding Afrobeats and global African music ecosystem.

This is not a conversation about potential. This is capital being structured and deployed in service of culture.

Africa and the Caribbean have the relationship. AACIS '26 is building the architecture.
