During our strategy session, we talked about the discipline of getting things done and what it means to show up professionally.

Then we tested our judgement through a little game of Judgement Call.

Could we make the right calls without leadership in the room?

We also broke into workstreams and tackled four big questions:

What do we sell?
Who buys it?
What do we lack?
Who fits?

A day of honest conversations, teamwork, decisions and plenty of thinking about what comes next.

Strategy, numbers, big conversations… and a few very personal notes.

In the middle of our two-day strategy session, Folahan Johnson had a note for every member of the team.

So, naturally, we had to read them out.

Between the laughs, we reflected on the goals we set at the beginning of the year, looked at the numbers, discussed what worked, and challenged ourselves on what needs to improve.

We also talked about where we want to take the business next, the work we have enjoyed most, and how we can build greater efficiency for ourselves and our clients.

In Katsina State, we are supporting stronger coordination across government agencies by creating space for institutions to understand their roles, responsibilities and how they connect to a shared reform objective.

Reform doesn’t last because it is announced. It lasts when institutions own it.

In Katsina State, the reform process is being driven by leadership, stronger structures, institutional ownership and a deliberate effort to change the status quo.

As the Director General of the .kt explains, the goal goes beyond participating in reform programmes. It is about creating the conditions to attract the capital, knowledge, technology and expertise needed for sustainable growth.

Better education begins with stronger foundations.

Our intervention in Katsina State is addressing key challenges in foundational education by supporting the rehabilitation of dilapidated schools, providing teaching and learning materials, recruiting more teachers, and strengthening teacher training.

The objective is straightforward: create better conditions for teaching and learning and improve foundational learning across schools.
