I started with letting the staff know that MARKETING & SALES are totally two different business activities even though they are closely related and majority of people donโ€™t know the difference

๐Ÿ›‘. MARKETING: involves understanding customer needs, creating awareness, and generating interest in a companyโ€™s products or services. It encompasses market research, product development, branding, advertising, public relations, and various strategies to reach potential customers. Marketing aims to create a demand for the product or service.

โœ…. Activities: This includes advertising, branding, content creation, market research, SEO (search engine optimization), and social media management.

โœ…. Goal: The primary goal of marketing is to generate interest, create demand, and position the product or service in the minds of potential customers.

๐Ÿ›‘. SALES: on the other hand, Sales are focused on converting the interest generated by marketing into actual purchases. It involves direct interaction with potential customers to convince them to buy the product or service.. It involves one-on-one communication, negotiating deals, and closing sales. The sales team works to convert the interest generated by marketing into actual purchases.

โœ… Activities: This includes direct communication, negotiations, closing deals, and building customer relationships.

โœ… Goal: The primary goal of sales is to achieve transactions, turning prospects into paying customers.

Here are three (3) factors you need to carefully consider when choosing your revenue stream:

โœ… Value proposition: Your value offer needs to have some kind of connection to your income source. The value that is delivered by your product or service ought to coincide with the income sources that you have.

โœ… The Market: Your income streams will be determined by your consumer base as well as your market fit. If your target market is made up of individual consumers, it makes perfect sense to offer a subscription service. If, on the other hand, you own a software firm, licensing your service can be a better option for you.

โœ… Competitors โ€“ Analyze the means via which your competitors bring in income. You might learn how to find your own sources of income by looking at your competitors' methods, mistakes, and successes.

Success in business is base on four (4) Major factors

(1) OFFER (Product/service)

(2) AUDIENCE ( Target market)

(3) TRAFFIC (engagement)

(4) AGGRESSIVE VISIBILITY (consistency)

Your goal this year 2024 should be to score minimum 90% in each aspect in your business.

One of my favorite quotes is the Chinese proverb which says:

Recently I facilitated a one day management training for Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) staff who are in retirement stage of their career.

The training objective was to share with them hands on strategy to convert their wealth of work experience in CONSULTING SERVICES and reemploy their self after retirement instead of retiring into a life of uncertainty or depending on their monthly pension allowance.

As a business owner, you need to know that a good product or service package doesn't always lead to more sales. However, your ability to get your PRICING right is always the game-changer you seek on a daily basis.

Pricing strategy is simply the deliberate processes or methods you use as a business owner to set the market value for your products and services in exchange for a monetary reward.

Some of the standard pricing strategies you can use in your business include:

a pricing strategy in which you fix the price of your offer (product or service) primarily based on how you believe your customers perceive the value of your product or service, also known as "customer-focused value pricing," in which you base your pricing on how much a customer believes a product is worth.

is the process of selecting price ranges for your goods or services strategically based on competitor pricing in your market or niche rather than solely on business costs or target profit margins.
