HOW TO MAKE CALLS WHEN YOUR PHONE IS LOCKED
For security sake, it is expected of you to lock your phone.
This is to restrict unauthorized person to have access to information on your phone.
As you are required to submit details of your next of kin in some cases for unforeseen circumstances, you can do same with your phone.
You can actually set your next of kin on your phone. The person can be called for any form of emergency to pass information to you.
If you misplace your locked phone, you can be reached through your next of kin set while the phone is locked.
You should set at least one next of kin on your phone.
Steps
1. Go to your phone settings and click (Accounts)
2. When you click Accounts, croll down and click on emergency information.
3. When you click on emergency information, you will see info and contacts.
4. Click contacts to add your next of kin and save.
Note: you can have more than one.
5. Exit the settings and lock your phone.
6. Tap your phone as if you want to make call. It will ask for your password and show emergency at the bottom.
7. Click on emergency and you will see dialing board.
8. Double click the emergency information on top of the dialing board and you will see your saved next of kin(s).
9. Pick any of your saved numbers and call.

How to Paint Floor Tiles
You've decided the floor tiles in your home no longer fit the new color scheme and you'd like to fix that with a coat of paint. If you're wondering if applying paint to ceramic floor tiles is a possibility, the answer is yes—by following these tips and using a few careful brush techniques.
Before You Begin: Consider the Moisture Content of the Room
One thing to keep in mind is how much moisture the floor tiles receive. In some rooms, such as a living room, dining room, or bedroom, the chances of the floor getting wet are minimal to none. For a kitchen or bathroom floor, foyer or entry floor, or laundry room, the odds of the floor getting wet increase. When painting floor tiles, it's recommended that the area in front of a kitchen sink or bathroom shower (where there is a high probability of water) remains unpainted as frequent moisture may result in peeling paint.
The items you'll need to complete the project include sandpaper, tile cleanser, epoxy, bonding primer, painter's tape, drop cloth, paint roller or paintbrushes, selected semigloss paint, urethane sealer, and paint thinner, if needed.
Step 1 - Prep Tiles with Sanding and Cleaning
Before paint can be applied to floor tiles, two things must take place. First, use sandpaper on each tile to remove its coating. Second, the tiles must be cleaned. Sweep and/or vacuum all dirt and debris before proceeding. Next, use a cleanser formulated for floor tile cleaning and scrub thoroughly. You can also use a bleach and water mixture of 1 cup bleach to 1 gallon of water as an alternate cleaning method. Use a dry towel to wipe up excess water and then allow the tiles to dry naturally at their own pace.
Step 2 - Repair Tiles, if Necessary
Once the tiles are clean and dry, do a visual inspection for any cracks, chips, or other imperfections. These will need to be repaired prior to painting. This is best accomplished using an epoxy mixture. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to mix the material and then apply it evenly over the affected area. Keep the epoxy material flush and even so it blends in with the surrounding tile to form a flat and level repair. If you don't smooth it out, it will result in uneven tile surfaces.
Step 3 - Apply Primer
A necessary step to ensure durability of the paint is the application of an epoxy bonding primer over the entire tile floor surface being painted. The primer can be applied with either a roller or a brush. The application of the primer increases the longevity of the paint adhering to the tiles.
Step 4 - Use Painter's Tape to Protect Other Surfaces
In most cases, the ceramic tile is bordered by other types of flooring. To prevent paint from getting on carpet or hardwood flooring, place painter's tape along the border or use a drop cloth.
Step 5 - Paint Application
Depending on the size of the area to be painted, use either a roller or a brush to apply the semi-gloss floor paint evenly over the tiles. Allow the tile to thoroughly dry before going on to the next step. Do not go on to the next step until tiles are completely dry.
Step 6 - Clear Coat Application
To seal the paint onto the ceramic tiles, apply several coats of water-based urethane sealer. Apply the clear coats in thin and even layers, allowing the urethane coating to dry between each application. Like the epoxy bonding primer, do not skip the application of the urethane sealer. Both products are important to sustain the integrity of the paint as well as guard the tile against scratches, scuff marks, and moisture. Allow the clear coat to completely dry before walking on the tiles.
Safety Tips
Any time you are working with paint and chemicals, it's extremely important that the room is well-ventilated. Open doors and windows to allow fresh air in. Use fans to help circulate air and remove the fumes from the room.
When using the cleanser or bleach mixture, wear gloves and goggles to prevent the liquid from getting into your eyes and from irritating your skin.
Also wear goggles when painting to avoid any paint splatter or thinner from entering your eyes

A Few Exciting Tools to Maintain Your Business from Your Mobile Device

Regardless of the business that you have, today’s competitive environment requires your company to be

more agile and ready-to-react 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. From this perspective, having a mobile-

first approach for task fulfillment can be a unique business differentiator to help deliver an incredible

experience to your customers.

Today, all of the tools that you need in order to run a business – from data storage, to customer

management, to orders and client support – are available on mobile devices. Your smartphone and

tablet are more than just cool gadgets; they are your always ready personal assistants in your pocket.

We have picked out some cool tools that you can use to run your business from a mobile device,

covering the five main cores of business.

1. Data storage and management

Being able to reach your centralized data from anywhere and at anytime allows you to be

independent from your main office location and enables flexible time management. Some of the

best tools include: Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive and SugarSync – these are great tools to

store and manage a “cloud” of all of the important data essential for doing business: contact

info, history of communication, customer profiles, account info and company credentials,

product catalogue, agreement templates, media files, etc.

2. Marketing

Regardless of the B2B or B2C business type you run, your successful sales starts with the right

marketing efforts for products or services promotion. Can you do some of them from your

smartphone? Sure, especially when it comes to social media marketing! Install free social media

apps to manage your company profile and ads.

3. Sales & Invoicing

One of every business’s goals is to make some profit. Modern mobile solutions can help you

simplify the process of achieving this goal. For instance, Freshbooks is a great tool if you need

online invoicing, time tracking and expense services, or you can use PayPal to swipe credit cards

to collect payments and scan checks like most banks.

4. Customer support

Stay synchronized with your help desk on the move by using some of these mobile apps:

– GetSatisfaction – an easy-to-use customer community platform for getting feedback from users

and providing technical support.

– SurveyMonkey – a great way to build free surveys to help conduct market research, and keep a

pulse on customers’ desires and satisfaction.

5. Communication

There is no such thing as a businesses without any forms of communication such as phone calls,

video conferencing, text messaging, emailing, ect. However, rather than using several different

devices for all of these forms of communication, you can just use the right apps to manage

various communication channels with the help of Skype, Google hangouts, Facebook

messenger, or the Gmail app.

All of the suggestions above are great tools for managing particular tasks, but unfortunately, you can’t

integrate all of them to get a comprehensive view of your business. In order to receive an all-in-one

solution to cover business spheres mentioned above and help your business grow, try the bpm’online

CRM app for mobile devices. It has an intuitive and user-friendly interface that allows fast adaptation

and the same user experience no matter what device it is used on, whether it be on a laptop, tablet or

smartphone.

How to Make a DIY Phone Projector

Projectors cost hundreds of dollars, but with four simple items, you can easily create your own DIY projector for much less.
For this tutorial, you will need:
Shoe box (or other type of small box)
Pen or pencil
Scissors (or other cutting method)
Magnifying glass
Tape or hot glue (tape is easier to work with)
A phone
Step 1: Cut Lens Hole

Cut the handle off the magnifying glass. Then trace the magnifying glass onto the end of the box. Once traced, cut out the circle. Close the lid to the box and check if the lid is in the way, if so remove the part that is in the way.
Step 2: Place Magnifying Glass

Using tape or hot glue, place the magnifying glass into place on the inside of the shoe box. Make sure not to hurt the lens in the process.
Step 3: If Needed, Make Phone Stand

Using supplies of your choice, make a phone stand to help line up with the lens.
Step 4: Project

In a dark room, turn your phones brightness to the maximum level and enable rotation lock. Place the phone in upside down, so when the lens mirrors it, it will look normal. Adjust the distance of the phone from the lens to adjust the focus and reduce blur.
Tips:

If you have a jailbroken iPhone, install and configure the tweak “Heads Up Display Mode” for a correctly mirrored image, it will enable you to flip the screen so it isn’t reversed.
Enable Do Not Disturb to avoid notifications
Keep your phone plugged in (if possible) to keep it from dying
Create a playlist of videos so you don’t have to mess with your phone once one is over
Make the room as dark as possible, and project onto a white surface

10 Ways to Find Investors For Your Startup

When you have a viable business plan for your start-up and you know how much funding assistance you need, and what it will be used for, it is time to start looking for investors. This is a scary step to take, but being prepared is always the best route, so I wanted to share a few different routes you should consider. Remember that you may need to speak to hundreds of investors before you find the right one for your startup. I personally know founders of popular successful startups that had to knock on hundreds of doors before getting funding. I have written a guide to How to get funding for your startup.
Here are ten ways to find the right investor for your start-up:
1. Start-up Launch Platforms
Companies have launched specific platforms that provide information, research, and assistance with all aspects of getting a business launched, including ways to connect with investors. Companies like startups.co are providing a convenient channel for locating investors in an efficient way.
Already, Startups.co has 13.9 million members, which makes it the largest start-up community in the world and provides an extraordinary opportunity to get in front of some investors in your space for both funding through Fundable and mentoring. Another up-and-coming start-up platform is Gust with $1.8 billion already invested in start-up businesses.
2. Angel Networks
You can find that angel investor who not only will invest in your start-up, but will also sit on your shoulder, offering mentorship, solid advice, and provide access to their network of contacts. Places to start include Funded.com, Angel Capital Association , and Angel Investment Network , all of which have thousands of angel investors who provide information on the type of investments they are seeking
To help you find a regional angel investor near you, Angel Capital Association even offers a directory listing by area and platform type. City Chamber of Commerce groups have also started to partner with angel investors to help stimulate new business opportunities for that city, including in areas like New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago.
3. Crowdfunding Sites
Crowdfunding sites provide you with access to many different types of investor – from the general public with an interest to participate in the “next big thing” (Kickstarter, Pererbackers, and Indiegogo) to philanthropists who believe in helping others realize their dream (RocketHub), to accredited investors seeking new ideas to fund such as OurCrowd .
Each crowdfunding site has its own focus and way of incentivizing investors, so study each one carefully to see which one most closely aligns with your strategic goals and vertical.
4. Incubators & Accelerators
Your start-up is your baby, and you want it to grow and flourish, so working with an incubator or accelerator gives you a whole host of investor resources to watch that business grow up and succeed. These investors are primarily interested in taking on a bigger role to help turn your idea into a viable business model as well as provide the funding sources to make it happen.
These incubators and accelerators even offer a physical space to set up your office, making it easy to work with you directly. Since space within the same building is also being used by other start-ups, this is a great place to exchange ideas and grow together. That National Business Incubation Association (NBIA) has a directory listing to help you find a business incubator member in your area. In exchange for funding, they may want a piece of your start-up, so you will need to decide how much you are willing to give up.
Start-up accelerators, such as 500Startups, TechStars, and Ycombinator, offer advice, small seed funding, and exposure to other investors through their own networks.
5. Small Business Administration
Traditional sources like the Small Business Administration are still a good source for funding because more programs have been developed in recent years to stimulate the economy. They primarily offer small business loans and grants, but these may be exactly what you need and are available with fair terms without having any interference or expectations that they will get a stake in your business.
6. Professional Social Networking Sites
Beyond LinkedIn, which is still a place to look for investors, numerous professional social networking sites have launched that can help connect you with all types of investors across all industry specializations and business segments. Many of these new professional social networking sites even connect you with investors from other countries who want to participate in the global business environment and often bring your product or service to their part of the world.
Some professional social networking sites to consider for investor connections include EFactor, Xing, Plaxo, Startup Nation, Cofoundr, and Meetup.
7. Private Equity Firms
Considered a traditional path to investor funding, private equity firms give you access to everything from a few thousand to millions in investment, primarily to those start-ups considered to be in the early stage with great growth potential across a wide range of industries.

Connect with accredited angel and startup investors via the network provided by Funded.com, Access a worldwide network of entrepreneurs, startups, angel investors, VCs and early stage investors and find funding or investment opportunities.
