Our NGO Leading Ladies Connect International training the Leading Ladies Treasure Founding Committee on 2nd June 2023.

The Leading Ladies Treasure is the University Membership Program of Leading Ladies Connect International with the aim to provide young women on university campuses with a platform to thrive, develop valuable skills, gain mentorship, and expand their network.

The objectives of the LLCI Treasure are as follows:
a) To empower female university students by providing opportunities for personal development,
leadership growth, and skill enhancement.
b) To foster a supportive community that promotes networking, mentorship, and collaboration
among members.

Our CBO joins Ekiti States Independent National Electoral Commission and other key stakeholders NGO & CSOs in Comunity Development, Good governance and peaceful electoral process in a Road show and Voters sensitization ahead of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.

The objective of the activity is to further notify the public about the period allotted for the PVC collection and their pick up locations.

Other messages shared at the road show includes the need for citizens to shun all forms of electoral violence and to ensure they obey all electoral laws as the discharge their lawful duties.

Our CBO, Joins EKITI GOVERNOR’S AIDS IN PARTNERSHIP With NGOs FOR EFFECTIVE GRASSROOTS COMMUNICATIONS

The Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Community
Communications, Mrs Mary Oso Omotoso has solicited partnership with Non - Governmental Organizations whose primary objectives are relevant to governance and community development .

Mrs Omotoso who made the assertion while meeting the representatives of the NGOs in her office, Ado Ekiti, stressed the importance of NGOs' support to having effective community engagement , social reorientation and sensitization of the people for better understanding of the policies, programmes and activities of government as well as providing opportunities for obtaining feedback from the people.

The Governor's aide described NGOs as key stakeholders in the development of the state, adding that the need to take the task of providing timely and unbiased information on government’s activities to the people is a collective responsibility.

According to her, Community Communications Office is to serve as bridge between the people, particularly those at the grassroots, and the Government.

Outlining the areas of collaboration her office is seeking partnership from the NGOs ,the Governor's Aide stressed that the Governor Oyebanji’s administration was committed to ensuring that no gap exist between government and the governed.

Responding , representatives of the NGOs , lauded the SSA for her efforts and passion at delivering on her primary assignment as well as deeming it fit to have invited them for such engagement , noting that her work plan is in line with their organizations outlined activities and programs.

The NGOs which attended the meeting include, Ekiti Women Arise(EWA), Centre of Social Reconditioning(CEFSORD), New Initiative for Social Development (NISD), MAI Initiative, Life and Peace Development Organization (LAPDO), Foundation for Sustainable Heath Promotion & Development (FOSHPAD), Centre for Better Health and Community Development(BHECOD), Triumphant Health & Development Initiative(THAD), Gold Heart Foundation(GHF), Gender Mobile Initiative (GMI), Bibi Grace Foundation(BGF), Inspiration Care Development Centre(ICDC), The New Generation Girls and Women Development (NIGAWD), Ray of Hope Foundation for Sustainable Development(ROFSHD), Society Development Foundation for Women(SODEF), Foundation for Justice and Social Development(FOJSOD), Foundation for Excellent Living and Development (FELAD), Justice and Peace Development Initiative(JDPI), International Federation of Women Lawyer(FIDA) and Kimpact Development Initiative.

Earlier today our Community Based Organisation paid a courtesy Visit to the new Kabiesi of Ogotun and to host a Village Square Meeting on Ending Violence Against Women and Girls in Ogotun Ekiti.

EWA Team paid a Courtesy Visit to the new Kabiesi of Ogotun Ekiti in the Early hour of today 6th July 2022 to intimate the new king on the The Activities of SAC-EVAWG project which has began before his entronment.

The Kabiesi apprected the efforts of the project and pledge his full support for the success of the project.

Later on the team heald a village square meeting with selected members of the community.

The meeting focused on discussion on Definition of Gender Based Violence, the causes and how community members can build Solidarity to End GBV in their communities with the provision of Ekiti state GBV Prohibition Law and support from the WARDC lead SAC-EVAWG Project.

At the end of the meeting the CRTs were presented to the Community and group photograph was taken.

Total Attendance 37
29 Women, 8 Men, including 2 PWDs.

Ekiti Women Arise EWA of the Leading Leadies at the Women Advocate Research and Documentation Centres (WARDC) Training Establishment and Certification of the Nominated Community Response Team (CRT) Members on Friday 3rd, June 2022.

The team was
empowered with knowledge needed to lead GBV responses in their respective Communities.
On the "Solidarity Accountability Commitment to End Violence Against Women and Girls "project Supported by

Over 120 CRTs were established to work in 4 different communities in all the southwest state of Nigeria.

The Ekiti State team is being coordinated by Ekiti Women Arise CBO of the Leading and a sister Organisation Balm in Gilead foundation for sustainable development. BIGIF

Total number of 19 CRTs were established to work in 4 different communities in Ekiti State, 9 of which is coordinated by Ekiti Women Arise of the Leading Ladies.

Ekiti Women Arise the Community Based Organisation of the Leading Ladies is Coordinating the Ogotun and Igbaraodo Community of Ekiti South Senatorial district of the "Building Solidarity in Communities to End Violence Against Women and Girls" project led by Women Advocate Research & Documentation Center (WARD-C) funded by

Women Advocates Research and Documentation Centre (WARDC) is a feminist organization with
a mission to ensure social and gender justice for women and girls in Nigeria.

As a result, WARDC
supports building women’s capacity, voice for women to resist violence against them and the girl
child, support political participation in the society, secure their lives and human dignity

WARDC with support from is implementing the project titled ‘Support to build
community level accountability mechanisms and enhance collaboration between women leaders
and traditional institutions in addressing gender-based violence’ in the six (6) South West states
in Nigeria i.e., Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti.

The two (2) years project (2021-2023) proposes to build the capacities and agency of women
leaders across 36 communities in south west Nigeria, support community outreach, group
education, enablement, and individual voluntarism in order to reduce community tolerance and
increase by stander action. The project will develop awareness and understanding of violence,
knowledge of rights and recourse, individual and collective local strategies for primary and
secondary prevention, and increased confidence and leadership.

Individual intervention will
involve women volunteers, who will identify survivors of violence, provide support, connect them
with crisis intervention and counselling services, and facilitate police and health service
consultation.
