√ ICCES summons aspirants
√ Warns against violence
√ Calls for peace
The Inter-Agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES), Ekiti State, today being 14th May, 2026, held a stakeholder meeting with the All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirants for the forthcoming primaries for the Federal House of Representatives, slated for 15th May 2026.
The meeting, which was held at the Conference Hall, Police Headquarters, Ado-Ekiti, had in attendance the ICCES Chairman and Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) INEC, Ekiti State, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police and Co-Chairman, ICCES, Ekiti State, CP Falade Adegoroye Micheal, and other ICCES members, as well as the aspirants.
Addressing the gathering, the REC and Chairman, ICCES, Ekiti State, Dr. Bunmi Omoseyindemi, stated that the meeting was necessary to ensure peaceful, free, fair, and credible primaries. He implored the aspirants to shun the use of thugs, hate speeches, and all acts that could cause the breakdown of law and order before, during, and after the elections.
Also speaking, the Co-Chairman, ICCES, and Commissioner of Police, CP Falade Adegoroye Micheal, revealed that the gathering was as a result of an intelligence received that some aspirants have concluded plans to cause mayhem during and after the primaries. He charged everyone to embrace peace, as those found in acts that could jeopardize a peaceful conduct will be made to face the wrath of the law.
Other ICCES members, in their individual speeches, advised the aspirants to shun violence and maintain peace.
The meeting featured the signing of an undertaking by all the aspirants to maintain peace, political stability and democratic order before, during and after the conduct of the party primaries.
