From Atedo Peterside: I attended an economic outlook session with top economists and top CEOs today and thought to share some of the perspectives. The session looked at Nigeria's economic direction for 2017.

The summary: 2017 will be tougher than 2016. The economy will not recover until 2018, even 2019. Inflation will continue to be high (hovering around 20%)and Naira to dollar will remain in the 450s. With money scarce many more businesses will fold up, leading to job losses and more poverty.

With inflation and high exchange rate the banks will not be able to give loans and when they do the interest rate will be too high to afford. With high inflation those with paid salaries are now actually earning less, that is if they will be lucky to keep their jobs...

The presentation shows that all sectors of the economy (not just oil) are either falling or already in recession (below zero). Signs are all over: British Airways just converted it's Nigerian office into an agency; almost all foreign airlines now fuel in Ghana; many people now smuggle crops and raw materials out to earn dollasrs;

75% of vacant houses in Ikoyi and VI don't have buyers; Shoprite that opened in Ajah in August is still 70% empty as dollars to bring in goods is scarce and customer count is poor; 5 other big supermarkets in Lagos have closed shop etc.

1. Cash is going to be King and whoever has it or has access to it should preserve it.
2. Spend less than you earn; SAVE for the rainy day.
3. Cut down on avoidable merriment.
4. Expect the worst Christmas in 20 years.
4. Look for dollar or pounds-earning businesses if you can.

*THE GOOD GOD CHANGED MY STORY THROUGH H2i-- Olahcash.*

*Here is my testimony so far...*

My name is Ademuwagun Olalekan James. I'm popularly know as Olahcash. I was privileged to graduate as a Geologist in 2010 and served 2011 in CHS, Alesa, Eleme LG, River State.

After my service, what happened was a story I will live to tell. Because there was no concrete plan, I suffered 4years of joblessness during which period I was rejected, dejected, disappointed, beaten, bartered and humiliated. Y? I was very poor as a graduate.
I was so poor that the relationship of 5years crashed because the lady could no longer tolerate my poverty personified life😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭...
But I wasn't born poor.. I didn't hail from a poor background like Mrs. Luzviminda. I only chose not to live on my parent or family's ACCTS. I chose never to live in a comfort zone. But I really suffered.

In my journey through life, if I told you so many odd jobs I did u won't believe me. I sold news paper on the street..I mean trekking from one street to the other, Vendor. Behind every Glory is a Story.
I prayed, fasted, went to mountains to pray for jobs but I was still jobless and very poor. Someone says, is God that wicked? NO...I was the one who failed to take responsibility... I was duped severally because I wanted to get a White collar job.
I took so many risk that didn't work out...in most cases I lost some hard earned cash. But I was determined to make it in life, so I never gave up on taking risk. At a point after loosing one of the most precious thing to me(my 5year relationship, almost heading to wedding), then I woke up from my illusion of getting a job to creating one. Then I started a biz without a dime and by now we pay salaries to our staffs.

The most blessed and life changing opportunity came to me when I went for a training last year June where I met a guy who told me about H2i. But it took me 2 months b4 I registered because it looks too good to be true, which I'm regretting badly now. I wish I never wasted that 2months.

I joined H2i on the 9th of August, 2015. This was the best decision of my life. Though the beginning was rough but with determination and consistency you will get there. Also, I have av been empowered to acquire properties including landed in Akure here.

Money can never be a challenge to me by God's grace. I never marry but I have a child I'm sponsoring his education. Chai this God is too faithful...

I was dumped by an undergraduate when I was poor but today even graduates are applying to be my paid cook because I need one. Now ladies are my marriage advisers... When they come to my house, they turn to my adviser on marriage issues....😜😜😜.. "Ola, y don't you go and marry? I don't like seeing you doing all this kitchen stuffs." Abeggii, forget that thing...when i dey suffer where unna dey? Poverty is a killer disease ooo....chaiii!!Baba God You too much. I give glory to God Almighty.

I'm glad to tell you that your present condition is not a reflection of your future position.
You are changing levels and all your mockers will be disappointed in Jesus name.
