Don't Build a System by Picking Components

One thing I've learnt from handling solar enquiries is that many people already have a system in their head before speaking to a professional.

“I want this inverter, this battery and these panels.”

But solar isn't a shopping list. Every component has to complement the others and, more importantly, serve the actual purpose of the system.

Sometimes, spending less upfront can actually cost more when the system is poorly matched, under-designed or incapable of handling the intended load.

There is a solution for almost every budget. The real skill is knowing how to design within that budget without compromising the system.

That is where professional guidance makes the difference.

One thing I keep seeing in solar enquiries is people combining components based purely on budget or availability.

A 4kVA inverter with a 2.5kWh battery may look good on paper, but the system has to be designed around the actual load, battery discharge capability, and intended use.

A pumping machine, for example, can demand a significant surge current at startup. A small battery bank may struggle even when the inverter itself is adequately sized.

There is a solution for every budget. The key is not to compromise the design just to make the numbers fit.

If the battery must be small, size the inverter accordingly. If you want a bigger inverter, give it the battery bank it deserves.

Good solar design isn't about combining what is available. It's about matching what works.

One of our installed power plants, a hospital facility commissioned in 2022, has undergone an upgrade to enhance capacity and long-term reliability.

The aging 15kVA (3 × 5 kVA) inverters, which have been in operation for approximately four years, have been replaced with new-generation 6 kVA inverters, offering improved efficiency, smarter control, and increased solar array handling capability.
So far, 2 × 6 kVA units (12kVA) have been successfully installed. The system will operate for a few days under observation to enable a detailed performance assessment. Based on the results, the next step will be either expanding inverter capacity to 18 kVA or allocating resources to increase the solar array from 18 kWp to 24 kWp.
