The Centre for Entrepreneurship and Gender Issues in Science and Technology (CEGIST) is one of the Centres within the Federal University of Technology, Akure. Our activities are directed at Engendering and Building Minds through capacity building programmes aimed at innovative and creative thinking for small business development.

Its "International Day for the
Elimination of Violence against Women" today November 25. This day also marks the beginning of "16 days of activism against gender violence" to end on December 10: International Human Rights Day" in order to symbolically link violence against women and human rights and to emphasize that such violence is a violation of human rights. Join us at FUTA on December 10 @ 10am as we hold a students' symposium to end the activism this year. CEGIST is collaborating with Girls to Women Research and Development Center (G2W) in marking this event. YOU ARE WELCOME!!!

WHAT WE DO
Encourage acquisition of skills to empower people to produce
Facilitate generation of new ideas towards innovative and creative thinking
Promote the spirit of entrepreneurship among young persons
Teach, Train and develop skills needed to complement science, technology and innovate based training and translating such processes into useful tools for national development
Conduct advocacy and social mobilization programmes on gender equity, identity & empowerment
Offer consulting services in entrepreneurship and gender empowerment programmes
