After several years of practical experience helping young people access better career opportunities, I am excited to announce the release of my new book (EDGE) today, 12th June 2020. You might ask, who is the book for?

Has your job been affected by the COVID19 pandemic and you’re back to the dreaded labour market?

Are you frustrated by what seems to be a fruitless search for a good job?

Do you feel you are underemployed and think you deserve a better job than you currently have?

Are you angry with yourself for being a victim of the unemployment crisis?

Have you submitted so many CVs that you have even lost count and it seem no one gets to see them?

Have you been searching for a scholarship opportunity for a master’s degree in a renowned institution outside the country but having difficulties scaling through the rigorous application procedures?

Or you have been struggling to bail out on the cat race and transit from a frustrating job to your dream enterprise?

Perhaps we should do a quick reality check.

Given the increasing rate of worldwide unemployment, the average in the G8 countries as 7.5%, the average youth unemployment of 17 of the G20 countries as over 16%, the International Labour Organization’s 2017 projection of global total unemployment is now at the centre of development dialogues nationally and globally. Similarly, the 2018 report of the National Bureau of Statistics in Nigeria revealed that about 24% (1 out of every 4) of Nigerians between ages 15 and 64 are unemployed!

Directly or indirectly, UNEMPLOYMENT and MASS POVERTY are fuel for the growing menace of insurgency, kidnapping, armed robbery, illicit drug business and other vices that threaten national well-being. Needless to say that unemployment is a time-bomb that must be averted immediately.

More so, with the stiffening competition, only graduates with cutting edge skills stand the chance to survive the hurdle and escape the ordeal that the larger percentage faces. So I ask, do you have an EDGE over others? Are you IRRESISTIBLE?

To place your order, kindly click on the link below:

You might just be helping someone become irresistible by sharing this post.

You can BECOME TRULY IRRESISTIBLE.

Cheers to your EDGE.

CAREER CHOICE

“Career is like rockets; don’t always take off on schedule. The key is to keep working the engines.”

Secondary School is usually a time for us to determine what we want to become. Many people come to a fix when they get to this point. This is a time for us to decide what career we actually want for ourselves. It is a time we will be introduced to sciences, social sciences, arts and business. However, this is just to give us an idea of the various aspects, it is expected this would help us prepare to decide which career path we would like to tread.

There are usually a number of considerations; what class is right for the profession you have always wanted? What are your parents or siblings saying? What did your teachers say? What class are your friends going to? What class is certain person(s) you admire? What are the prospects and opportunities of being in one class over and above others? Which class can we readily excel in? These and many more are the questions we ask as we ponder which class to go to.

It is often the time we inform our minds on what our pursuit will be as well as a time many factors will try to influence our decision making. How many of us studied sciences because our parents wanted us to be doctors? How many people studied the arts because of a popular lawyer they admired? How many of us went to art class because our friends were going there? How many of us joined the social sciences because we perceive the other classes were “tougher”? How many of us really followed our dreams? Permit me to state clearly that regardless of your eventual choice, there is a vast door of opportunity in any path you choose to follow.

There is nothing bad in parents, siblings or teachers suggesting to a child what career he or she may pursue if it is in line with the child’s desire and abilities. There is nothing wrong in being inclined to the class your siblings or other persons you admire were as long as it tallies with what your heart beats for. Nobody should be coerced to follow any professional path. Also the fact that a person is very smart is no reason to assume a particular course is best for that person. The person could feel more at home in a different class. It is also a mistaken preference to think that science students are the brightest while others trail behind them.

In choosing a career path there are some important questions you should ask yourself. Let me highlight some here for us to consider; what did you intend to become when you entered school? Why did you intend to become so? What are the things that you admire? What does your heart beat for? What are the things you are naturally good at? What are the things people give you compliments for? What help would you render to people and feel good doing so? What are the things people mostly ask you to help them with? What is essential is to choose the subjects with your heart desire as the primary reason for its choice. This choice is the beginning of your plan for your profession. It gives you the foundation upon which further learning can be built.
