Lafbart Innovations & Consulting Ltd (LAFBART), a indigenous automotive manufacturer in Nigeria, has unveiled a series of Made-in-Nigeria vehicles designed for security, commerce, leisure, and infotainment.
Speaking at the launch event held at the Dome in Akure, Ondo State on the 6th of June, 2026, the MD/CEO of LAFBART expressed joy at achieving over 60% local content in the production of their tricycle, named "Keke Naija." He acknowledged the support of the National Automotive Design & Development Council (NADDC) in encouraging local companies to reach their full potential.
In response, the Director General of NADDC, Chief Joseph Oluwemimo Osanipin, commended LAFBART’s patriotism, stating that the company has heeded the government's call to increase local value addition. This, he noted, will enable LAFBART to benefit from the Federal Government’s newly introduced "Nigeria First Policy."
Before cutting the tape, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olayide Adelami (mni), who represented the Executive Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, praised LAFBART as a worthy representative of the state. He reaffirmed the company’s innovative approach to solving societal problems through knowledge.
Vehicles launched include:
1. Patroller – The new face of security patrol in Nigeria. This security intervention vehicle bridges gaps in current patrol systems with features such as external cameras, high beams, GPS navigation, and a security locker.
2. Keke Naija – A locally manufactured tricycle that competes favorably with existing models.
3. VisioX – A cost-effective infotainment system enabling both visual and audio output while allowing feedback input.
Also present at the occasion were: the Chief of Staff to the Ondo State Government, Chief Segun Omojuwa; the Head of Service, Chief Segun Odusanya; directors and staff of the NADDC; the Comptroller of Immigration (Ondo State); among others.
