International Law : The Armed Conflict Between The United States of America and Iran:-
a. International Law recognises State Sovereignty and Territorial Integrity of States (countries are referred to as States) - Article 1 and 2 of the United Nations Charter, 1945.
2. States are enjoined not to use Force in their international relations with other states, in such a way that affects the Territorial Integrity and Political independence of other states etc. - Article 2(4) of UN Charter
3. States are enjoined to use Pacific means of settling their disputes- Article 33 of the UN Charter.
4. States have a right to Self Defence, either anticipatory, preemptive, or actual self defence etc- Article 51 of UN Charter.
5. Where resort to force is made, such force must be proportional to the earlier force used by the attacking party - Geneva Conventions of 1949 et Al.
6. Reprisal attacks are prohibited by International Law. The UN General Assembly in its 1970 Declaration on Principles of International Law declared, "States have a duty to refrain from acts of reprisal involving the use of force." Resolution 2625 (XXV).
7. The means and methods of warfare used must be such as to conform with principles of distinction, military necessity, proportionality, humanity, of International Humanitarian Law etc.- Geneva Conventions of 1949 et al.
9. International peace and security is of Paramount importance another World War may lead to the annihilation of the human race, due to extensive development of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons - Chapter VII of the UN Charter.
