THE HIJACKED APPOINTMENT (ST001/23)
Malachy graduated from one of the first generation University in Nigeria and couldn't find a job. For six years, he searched for jobs and remained unemployed.
When a Directorate was established, he decided to visit the office to see the job openings that was available. Fortunately, he was informed that the new Directorate was recruiting. He looked through the requirements and discovered he was qualified. He applied and rushed to submit his CV., thinking he was the first to know about the vacancy that existed.
After a couple of weeks, he received an invitation for interview stipulating that he should come along with his writing materials and and original copies of his credentials.
On the day of the interview, he went to the venue of the interview only to find most of his friends who he sees often, also had come for the interview, but they did not inform him.
During the interview, 25 applicants appeared for the interview for the 3 (three) vacant positions.and they were given oral and written interview. At the end of the interview 10 out of the 25 participants scored 75% marks.
The panel decided to organize a lucky dip. The Secretary to the panel, got 10 pieces of small papers and wrote "YES" in 3 (three) and "NO" in 7 (seven) of them and put them in a bag. He shuffled it and asked them to pick out of the bag.
As usual there was stampede amongst the 10 participants on who to pick first. One of the participants kept his cool and watched the others rush to pick. After all had picked, he picked the last and picked "YES"
The 3 (three) participants that picked YES were asked to wait for the Offer of appointment letters and were asked to resume on Monday at 8.00am.
On Monday the three newly recruited staff went to the office to resume as scheduled; only to be told 3 newly recruited staff had also showed up from the Headquarters in Abuja for the same position.

"£60 million with a CURSE"
Episode 2

THE RESIGNATION
"I can now do good business" he screamed. He got a sheet of paper and wrote his resignation letter.
Elliot had been exposed to the produce buying business, but due to lack of funds he could not execute his plans. Now that funds are available, the set time to actualize this dream has come.
He took out his old files, dusted it and looked through his contacts. He contacted local buying agents for supply of Cocoa, Bitter kola and Spices. He also made contacts with International buyers. The business took off. Within a month, demands for Cocoa and Bitter kola started pouring in. In no time , Elliot became rich. He built a mansion by the water front with a fantastic landscape laced with exotic flowers.
With these achievements, he decided to get married.

THE WEDDING CARD
Since he received the alert from King Henry, he tried a number of times to call him but the calls were not pulling through. He had also sent a catalogue of text messages ,no response. Now he is about to get married will he not invite his friend - Henry?.
The preparation for the marriage was on top gear and invitation cards had been printed and all was getting set. He encouraged himself and sent an invitation to Henry. He also did not get a reply.
Two weeks to the wedding date, two cars drove into his premises- a Rolls-Royce and a Jaguar pulled in front of his mansion and some white men alighted.from the cars. They were ushered in by his security personnel. Elliot had never seen these men before. He welcomed them and entertained them. After exchanging pleasantries, the men handed him a golden folder saying " this is a message from His Majesty King Henry., your friend and former classmate. Elliot was stunned and speechless. When he came back to his senses, he opened the golden folder and found a scroll tied with a ribbon, particulars of the Rolls Royce car and a silver envelope he didn't open because he was overwhelmed. The two men from the King, told him they would be in Nigeria until after the wedding because, His Majesty had asked them to represent him during his wedding. He thanked them and expressed his gratitude to His Majesty.
The men left the Rolls-Royce and drove away in the Jaguar. When they had gone, Elliot could not contain his joy. The surprise was too much for him to bear. He lost his appetite, he was overwhelmed and flabbergasted.
'Just like that? A Rolls-Royce in front my mansion ? I must be dreaming.' He reasoned. Ok. Let me see how real it is. He got the keys of the car, opened the door and sat on the driver's seat. Hmmm! he exclaimed.

Episode 1.
"£60 Millions with a CURSE."

SCHOOL DAYS
Eliot was in class when a white boy walked to him stretching out his hand and introduced himself to him. " I am Henry" . Eliot holding his hand " Eliot". " Eliot that is the name of my best friend in Europe, what a coincidence" Henry said happily.
Eliot and Henry became friends and classmate for the periods of their studies.
After their final examination , a farewell party was organized by the school Authorities. At the end of the party, a class group photograph was taken and there was exchange of contacts.

AFTER SCHOOL.
For all the years Henry and Eliot were in school, Eliot did not know Henry was a prince and heir to a throne of a powerful kingdom in Europe.
Henry returned to Europe. After 4 (four) years his father died and Henry was crowned king.
Eliot got a job in a manufacturing company. He worked so hard but dissatisfied and could not find another job with a better pay.
One weekend he decided to clear a heap of files in his room and he stumbled into an old folder. He opened it and found Henry his classmate's phone number.. In excitement he tried to call, but the call would not pull through. He then sent a text message to him.
The message reads:
" Henry I must confess I missed you. Since you left, I have not been happy because I could not find a friend like you and a good paying job and I am thinking of calling it a quit and go into business if I could raise the sum of £10,000.
Now that I am armed with your contact, I shall pull a call across soon. Regards Elliot."

King Henry read through the text message with excitement and replied instantly. "Send your bank details.please".

Elliot urgently sent it. After a couple of minutes an alert of £100,000 appeared on his phone. "What?" he exclaimed In excitement , he hurriedly sent a thank you message with gratitude.
