THE EARTH HOUSE
A concept inspired by the warmth, texture, and character of earth built homes.

I imagined a sideways cylinder in terracotta leather, with a sturdy banana fiber handle and a fringe inspired by natural raffia textures.

Still just a concept for now, but I love seeing how materials, architecture, culture, and a little imagination can come together.

What do you think? Would you carry her?🙃

Did you know that oftentimes, people with disabilities are not involved in conversations about the challenges they face every day?

How can a law protect people if the people it is meant to protect do not know about it?

How many sign language interpreters are available in our hospitals, offices, religious institutions and schools?

Are laws regarding persons with disabilities actually being implemented? And if they are, are we monitoring that implementation?

How will implementation reach people living in rural communities?

These are some of the conversations I had the privilege of listening to today at the Ikra Foundation for Women and Youth Development roundtable on the implementation of the Bauchi State Persons with Disabilities Commission Law.

Thankful for the well of knowledge I got to drink from today and even more grateful for the opportunity to take what I’ve learned and give it back to my community.

Wanted it round but made it too large and skinny , so I’m folding it in two so it’s sturdy!🤧

The more I work with it, I discover better/more efficient techniques!
