𝗝𝗔𝗠𝗕 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗖𝗘𝗦 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗦 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 𝗖𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗦

Checked your JAMB CAPS portal recently and got confused by a status you've never seen before? You're not alone — JAMB has rolled out new admission status labels, and thousands of candidates are asking the same question right now: "𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝗲?"

Here's your simple breakdown 👇🏾

🟡 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗬 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗜𝗡𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗧𝗨𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Good news — your chosen institution has selected you! JAMB is now carrying out verification checks before giving final approval. You're on the list, just not fully confirmed yet.

🟢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗕𝗬 𝗝𝗔𝗠𝗕

Even better news — JAMB itself has recommended you for admission. This means your application has cleared another stage and is moving closer to final confirmation.

🔴 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗗

This is where problem lies,it means you have not been recommended for JAMB Admission or no institution had shortlisted you for admission. You must check the following to be recommended, check for mismatch of details, wrong O'level, error in grades in O'level, underage etc these factors can affect your admission or even forfeit your school process even when you meet cutoff/catchment for the institutions. Fix it before it's too late.

𝗜𝗡 𝗦𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗟𝗘 𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗠𝗦

🟡 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗗 : Your school picked you; JAMB is reviewing.

🟢 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗 : JAMB has endorsed you; final admission may be next.

🔴 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗔𝗗𝗠𝗜𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗗 : Not institution has shortlisted you for admission, No recommendation from JAMB

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼?

Don't panic if you see either status — Fix the affected details, upload your O’Level/A’Level results, ensure you check your JAMB Caps regularly for the final "ADMITTED" status, and be ready to accept your offer promptly once it appears.

📌 Stay informed. Stay ready. Your admission journey is progressing!

The extension, approved by the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer of NABTEB, Dr. Mohammed Aminu Mohammed, and conveyed in an internal memorandum dated 10th September, 2026 and signed by the Director, Examinations Administration, Chigoziem Susan Metu, is to provide prospective candidates and other stakeholders additional opportunity to complete the registration process.

HOW TO ACCEPT YOUR JAMB ADMISSION
‎
‎If JAMB has offered you admission, you need to accept the admission. There are two ways you can do this, depending on whether you still have access to the SIM card linked to your JAMB profile.
‎
‎》SMS METHOD
‎
‎If you still have access to the SIM card you used for your JAMB registration, you can accept your admission by sending your JAMB registration number followed by ACCEPT to 55019 or 66019.
‎
‎Example:
‎
‎20260000011 ACCEPT
‎
‎》VIA CBT CENTRE
‎
‎If you have lost access to the SIM card linked to your JAMB profile, don't panic.
‎
‎You are to visit the nearest accredited JAMB CBT centre close to you to accept the admission.
‎
‎You will be required to undergo fingerprint verification before you can accept the admission.
‎
‎So, if you have been offered admission and you are wondering how to accept it, check which of these two methods applies to you.
‎
‎Don't just see the admission and relax. Make sure you accept it and continue with the necessary admission processes.
