Welcome to our new month series - BALANCING THE TALENT EQUATION; HIRING RIGHT. In today’s fast-paced economy, a business owner's biggest liability isn't inflation - it’s a bad hire. We are moving past traditional CVs to talk about building high-performance teams, cultural alignment, and retaining the right talent to protect the business of tomorrow.
Our first Guest, Mr. Dotun Adako, is a thoroughbred human resources professional with diverse experience across the Human Resources Management value chain. He is a seasoned leader, well-rounded by over three decades of experience cutting across different sectors such as manufacturing, service delivery, and Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).
He began his distinguished career with The Nigerian Bottling Company, makers of Coca-Cola products, from 1993 to 2008. During this time, he held various human resources managerial positions across different production facilities and the central office.
Between 2006 and 2008, he served as the Human Resources Planning and Resourcing Manager at a senior management level, demonstrating strategic oversight. In this capacity, he was responsible for ensuring new employees had a seamless hiring and onboardingexperience within the organization. He also expertly coordinated manpower demand/supply forecasting and developed plans to match the demand/supply pool, contributing significantly to talent pipeline management.
In 2008, he joined VFS Global Service as General Manager, Human Resources, with strategic responsibility for managing all human resources activities across Sub-Saharan Africa, including North Africa. He was tasked with managing the entire talent management strategy for optimum business performance, and designing and implementing engagement and retention initiatives across the region. He held this pivotal position until September 2014, when he left to join BUA Group International as Group Head, Human Resources, a position he currently holds.
At BUA Group, he is saddled with the comprehensive responsibility for formulating transformational and strategic people-centered initiatives aimed at delivering business objectives.
