Title: Curbing Social Vices and Hardship through Proper Entrepreneurship Funding

By Dr. Kingsley Obasse, RCSI

To His Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria

Mr. President, I write to bring to your attention a critical issue that has far-reaching consequences for our nation's development: the need for proper entrepreneurship funding to curb social vices and hardship.

As you are aware, Nigeria is blessed with an abundance of innovative and entrepreneurial talent. However, many of these individuals lack the necessary resources to turn their ideas into reality. This has led to a rise in social vices such as corruption, poverty, and inequality, as people become desperate to make ends meet.

Mr. President, I firmly believe that proper entrepreneurship funding is key to unlocking Nigeria's true potential. By providing access to capital, training, and mentorship, we can empower entrepreneurs to create jobs, stimulate economic growth, and reduce poverty.

Furthermore, entrepreneurship funding can also help to address the pressing issue of youth restiveness and unemployment. By providing young people with the resources they need to start and grow their own businesses, we can redirect their energy and creativity towards positive and productive pursuits.

To achieve this, I recommend the following:

- Establish a national entrepreneurship fund to provide access to capital for start-ups and small businesses
- Create business incubation hubs and accelerators to provide training and mentorship
- Implement policies to support entrepreneurship, such as tax breaks and regulatory reforms

Mr. President, I urge you to take decisive action to address the issue of entrepreneurship funding. Together, we canq create a brighter future for Nigeria and unlock the full potential of our citizens.

*AT 17, l AM PAINED!🥵🥵😟*

Have you heard or read the news of late?

I mean the latest killing by ritualist of about 17 years of age!

At 17 he already mastered the act of killing😥

Not a fowl,
Not a rat,
Not a goat,
Not a snake,
But a Human.

At 17 he was already a Commander In Chief of a gang🤔

At 17, he is already in a relationship and had a girl friend without supervision😟

At 17, he didn't just set his victim up to be killed by an older person, rather, he did it himself by strangling her neck without remorse!

We don't even kill a goat or a fowl by straggling: but to a human he did😔

At 17, he was so cruel that he could give orders for her head to be chopped off and roasted for ritual purpose.

How did he get the idea of killing to get rich at this age?🤔

Who inspired and led him into such?🤔

How comes he had no remorse or pity for his victim?

What does he know about money and riches at just 17?

Kai! Who did this to us?😭

This boy didn't appear on earth, he was born.
He was raised by someone, how did he come to this point?

No body wakes up to do such without a motivating factor.
No one commits such cruel and sacrilegious act without mentorship☹️

Who do we blame for this?

At age two 2, you would see children ordering their parents arround and making mischievous demands, but the parents would smile and say "he or she is just a child."😳

At age three, chidlren would decide what food they are to be fed, not on any medical grounds, but out of share foolishness and naughtiness, yet the parents would oblige them.
Later on such parents would come up to bother people with their avoidable issues which they refused to avoid😏.

The family is set on the table to eat, but your precious child who is just 7 years of age would insist on eating something else, surprisingly, the ever kind parents who are so gracious, allow him or her to eat what he wants. Hmmmm!

When you correct them, they would say they are too young.

If you caution them, they would say you are being mean.

When you try to instill discipline in them, you get accused of being cruel and heartless.

Now the child has become a menace to the society, the same society he or she is supposed to join hands to build.

The burden you should have borne by raising them well and fine, you failed but now you expect pastors and teachers to turn your bandits and hoodlumic chidlren into a saint over night. Naaaa! it doesn't work that way🙄

Let's not deceive ourselves,
If they are too young to be corrected, they would be too corrupt to be commended.

If they are too young to be built, they would be too old to be reckoned with.

If they are too young to be taught, they would be too old to be tamed.

Parents and guardians, we must arise oh!

Most Schools have now watered down their disciplinary principles just to accommodate some spoilt rich kids who lack good home training.☹️

Here we are; at 17, he is so encumbered with the thought of becoming rich that he does not mind killling a human to achieve his goal.

It all started somewhere, the home, then the school, and ofcourse the society.

This is not what the government can cub or handle but what we all must rise to address.

It is the people that make up the government and not the other way round.

To the married and intending couples, keep the idea of having so many kids if you are not ready to take up responsibility for their well being and growth.

I can't stop to imagine, at 17 he wants to be rich to impress a girl or his friends. Perhaps to build houses and to show off by travelling here and there. And for that purpose, a lady's life has gone.😥

It's no time for the blame game, let's all put hands on the deck and work things out now.

At 17!
The only future he could think of is money and the best way to get it is by killing.😟

What would happen when he becomes 30 ?😟

Lord have mercy!

Starting your own business
The time is now to take the first steps toward starting your own business—if you’re ready. It’s no easy task; it takes determination, patience and a lot of hard work. Before you launch, though, be sure to ask yourself these three important questions. With this groundwork in place, you set a solid foundation for a thriving and successful business.

3 Questions to Ask First
Starting Your Own Business in 2021?
There are many advantages to starting your own business, and I enjoy all of them myself as a business owner and consultant.
First and foremost, if your business is successful, you can spend 9 to 5 doing what you love—this is my number one reason for running my own business. This also gives you the freedom and flexibility to run the business how you see fit; to finally be your own boss.
While starting your own business has its advantages, it also has its fair share of challenges, from extreme stress and long hours to building a valuable product or finding a high-value niche for your service, just to name a few.
To be sure you’re ready, answer the three important questions below.
1. Am I a hundred percent committed? (Or at least “pretty committed”?)
I’m not a fan of the way “commitment” is depicted in the entrepreneur world. The stories we read seem to fall into one of two categories:
• You’re an overnight success.s
• You work yourself to the bone and burn out before you’re even up and running.
Someone recently shared a great quote: “An overnight success is 10 years in the making.”
That’s a great reminder of two things:
• You don’t need to be an overnight success to be successful.
• You don’t need to burn yourself out to get there. There can be a happy medium.
While starting your own business does take a hundred percent commitment, that doesn’t have to mean leaving your current job or working long nights and weekends. Juggling a career and a business on the side is challenging, but not impossible. If this is the route you’ll take, do a bandwidth check and create a rough timeline to help you stay on track.
For example, your timeline might look like this:
• January: Meet with five successful entrepreneurs in the industry or find a mentor.
• February: Put together a Lean Plan: a quick, one-page business plan.
• March: Get a website and social media set up—start posting regularly.
• April: Find a freelance developer to install ecommerce software and get product listings right.
Ultimately, you’re working toward starting your business with each passing month—without driving yourself crazy in the meantime.
Leaving your job and relying solely on income from your business before you’re ready to do so may leave you struggling to make ends meet, causing unnecessary stress and anxiety. If you wait until you’re 100 percent committed (and financially ready), it will be easier to take the hiccups and roadblocks in stride.
2. What’s my niche?
You’re entering a market that has existing competitors, more than likely. To ensure that your product or service stands out amongst the crowd—making the sacrifice in time, money and sanity worth it—you must differentiate.
This is where your niche comes into play. A niche is a specific segment of a market or particular qualities of your own product or service that narrow down who you’re trying to sell to, and what exactly you’re selling. For example, the plus size category is a niche market within the larger fashion industry because it’s catering to a very specific audience, not just shoppers.
As you determine your niche, remember that “the smaller the niche, the less competition, which means you have more chance of the buyer finding you. But be warned—it also means less potential buyers. So you need to balance the level of competition with the size of the market,” according to 5 Secrets to Selling Products Online.
Note that this is true of services as well; if you want to start a cleaning business, for example, your niche might be multi-family homes or green cleaning rather than simply being a “residential cleaner,” of which there are many.
The key is making your niche clear to anyone who comes across your website or social accounts. I consider my niche to be high-quality content and great communication, and I actively work to make sure that remains true of all my work.
To make my value clear, I use testimonials that speak to this niche. I also make it a point to respond promptly to project requests, always meet deadlines, and communicate to the editor when I cannot.
To find the best balance between concise and too narrow, check out this guide from Thrive Hive, which walks you a few important steps and ideas for identifying your niche. As you think it through, simultaneously brainstorm the ways you can show this value in your marketing.
3. What tools and resources do I need to start?
Before you take the first step toward starting your own business, make a list of what you need to get going.
This list may be as simple as:
• Website
• Time
For me, this was all I needed—and a new desk from Ikea. In other cases, however, this list may be a lot longer to include: software programs, high-tech tools, and more likely, money. Knowing what you need from the get-go will allow you to slowly assemble what you need as you prepare to get started—if you need a lot of money, you’ll need time to find it, whether you take out a bank loan or find an angel investor.
In either case, when you know what you need, break the list into two columns: “Must Haves” and “Would Be Nice.” Prioritize the items and then determine the costs of all of it, and where you should splurge versus pinching pennies.

Next, turn to your digital Rolodex to find people within your network who are well-connected, both in your industry and otherwise. They may have great insight on buying used parts or who to refer to about legal questions.

Before you laugh at this photo, take a moment to ponder on this.

As funny as this may look, it should be able to teach us a lesson or two.

This is an estate car popularly known as station wagon, owned by a school but on it is written, SCHOOL BUS.

You might think in that entire school no one knew the correct thing to be inscribed on the car's body but you'd be shocked that numerous people did and still do.

Sometimes you find yourself in a place where you know the proper things that should be done. You go ahead to suggest, inform and argue but a few people who feel they know too much would never listen to you.

You offer your professional advice but they fall on deaf ears...
..some even go ahead to say that you argue too much, when you try to insist that the right things be done.

You see, some people are so lazy they just fall for the easiest way to do things without thorough analysis and consideration of other possibilities.

They dwell so much on "It doesn't matter" and "We can manage it like that" such that it makes you feel ashamed being part of substandard decisions.

When you find yourself among people who don't accept contribution and suggestions from others, you feel helpless and sometimes, unwillingly allow them go the wrong path.

It could be in a committee, a group or association you belong to and even your family...
.. if you're one who loves seeing perfection; you end up hurting your feelings when things (just) get done haphazardly.

Humans should learn how to allow others add value to their lives, by listening to advice and giving consideration to their thoughts.

U might have lost a Job, monies or businesses in this trying period, but do not loose hope on God, rather ask God to open your eyes to do that which you're destine for, you will be amazed at the speed which you will succeed walking in the part of your destiny.
Sometimes we find out that what we want isn't really what we need, our dreams and promises seems as if they were never meant to be, all our hopes in despair, this usually happens when we are off our destiny routes, check most great men, they have failed in fields that are not part of their destiny but becomes light of the world when they retrace their steps.
That thing you always do confidently without struggle, might be your strength and might be what you need to do for your light to shine.
Think about it.
