A recent survey by LinkedIn Learning team showed Business Analysis skill as part of the Top Skills in 2018!

One of the lacks of employability skill is the huge gaps in relevant skills for the dynamic job market which a lot of our young graduates do not possess. Unfortunately, these skill gaps widen as the evolution of technology impacts businesses thereby shifting the skill-sets required to succeed in the 21st century.

New skilling & re-skilling is part of being adaptive and ensuring you remain relevant so you can respond positively and proactively to the ever changing workforce & business environment.

In a bid to learn new skill, I recently took a 4-day preparatory course in 'Certified Business Analysis Professional' and will take the exams in a few month from now. The session cost is in 6 digits (=N= 000,000.00). A lot of young professionals need this Business Analysis skill to take their careers to the next level and be relevant. However, so many people cannot afford it. With all sense of modesty, it was a rare privilege and honour to be a panelist representing my CMD at the 2018 edition of the Talent & Vision colloquium held at TechnoOil yesterday.

On the panel was Mallam Kyari Bukar, Managing Partner, Trans-Sahara Investment Corporation and the Chairman, Nigeria Economic Summit Group who delivered the Keynote speech. The other panelist was Prof. Lere Baale of Business School Netherlands.

It was such an insightful session and a wake up call as Mallam Kyari spoke on Digitalization and Innovation highlighting where we are as a nation. I shared insights on The organisation of the future: the implication for skills. While Prof. Lere spoke on ways to stay relevant through learning.

The future is now! Let's start today to build the type of future we want.

2017 Throw back!

I remember the excitement & fulfillment I felt after facilitating at the innovation bootcamp where I trained over 200 secondary students on how they can solve problems and be innovative.

Recent research has shown that a lot of young people lack innovation and problem solving skills which explains one of the reasons we have high unemployment rate in Nigeria.

Part of my goals in 2018 is to organize work shops on how to develop problem solving and innovation skills................to StandOut in 2018!
