UAE has announced significant changes to its through the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Ports Security.

A Police Clearance Certificate (Good Conduct Certificate) is now a MANDATORY REQUIREMENT for all new entry permit applications for Nigerian and other nationals from the following countries:

Requirements to register an NGO in Nigeria

Registering a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) falls under the Incorporated Trustees under the law guiding registration of business/bodies in Nigeria.

So when registering an NGO, the following details must be ready:

1) Aims and Objectives of the NGO
2) Id cards of trustees (operators of the NGO)
3) Passport Photograph of the trustees
4) Signature of the trustees,
5) Their email addresses,
6) Active phone numbers,
7) Date of Births for those using nin as id (Indicate chairman, indicate secretary.
8) Address of the ngo(No/building name lga, street, state, city)

What is TIN?

TIN means Tax Identification Number (TIN), which is a unique, mandatory identifier assigned by the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS formerly Federal Inland Revenue Service) to individuals and businesses for tracking tax compliance, banking, and government contracts.

Why do I need a Tax ID for my business name?

Why should I file annual returns with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC)?

Have you noticed that your Business Name (BN) or Company is showing "inactive" on the CAC portal?

Your company or BN status is showing "INACTIVE" because you failed to file annual returns.

What is an annual return?

Annual returns is a mandatory statutory requirement that keeps your business active, compliant, and visible on the CAC portal (see the screenshot attached for a sample of Annual Return Filings acknowledgement receipt)

Consequences of failing to file annual returns

1) The moment you missed a year or more to file annual returns, CAC assumed that your company is no longer active and it is immediately moved to "inactive".

2) You will not only file the defaulted years, but you will pay penalities.

3) You will not be able to bid for cars on major and complaint car bidding portals in the US or Canada, if you're a car dealer.

4) You may not be able to bid for a government contract because the government prefers to do business with those who have also played their roles in remitting certain obligations to it.

5) Your BN or Company name will be struck off the CAC register if you haven't filed your returns for more than 10 years.
