Ebonyi 2023: What I’ll do with Ebubeagu if elected governor – PDP candidate

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Ifeanyi Odii, said he would deploy technology to replace the Ebubeagu Security outfit in the state if elected in the 2023 polls.

He said this during the 25th anniversary and dedication of the Emmanuel Anglican Church, Abakaliki Diocese, on Tuesday.

Mr Odii, who received the award of excellence leadership and humanitarian services from the church, said he was ready to put smiles on the faces of residents in the state come 2023.

He pledged to bring about peace in the state, free basic education, and the wellbeing of civil servants in the state.

“As a governor, there will be peace in the land, there will be love among us, and our children will have access to free education.

“As a governor, the civil servants will go home smiling when the month ends. As a governor, I will deploy technology to replace Ebubeagu to tackle insecurity.

“I have made these promises, and I will like you to check my pedigree, check my life and that will tell you what I will do for Ebonyi people,” Mr Odii said.

The PDP candidate did not, however, explain how he would use technology to secure the state if elected governor.

He also pledged to strengthen his “scholarship scheme” in the 13 local government areas of the state.

The candidate thanked the Bishop of Abakaliki Diocese, Monday Nkwoagu, and his members for the award.

He said he was ready to use his resources to give hope to the people, especially the downtrodden.

“I have built eight churches, including an Anglican church in the state and my indiscriminate life has made me to freely give out to individuals and different organisations without tracing their backgrounds,” he added.

In his remarks, the bishop, Mr Nkwoagu said Mr Odii was nominated for the award because of his “contributions to the development of society and churches”.

“We recognise his humanitarian services within and outside Ebonyi State,” the bishop added.

The National Vice Chairman of the PDP, South-east region, Ali Odefa, while reading Mr Odii’s citation, said the candidate is an entrepreneur and philanthropist with vast experience spanning over 22 years.

“Odii has built over 130 homes for the indigents in the rural areas with eight churches, primary and secondary schools in the state, amongst others,” he said.

Brief Truth about the rumpus rumour saga of charter of Equity in Ebonyi State, and the fallacious purported zoning system in Ebonyi State . .... Ebonyi State was created on 1st October 1996 by a Kano born late General Sani Abacha of the blessed memory. This course was championed by Akanu Ibiam, Dr Offia Nwali, Ezeogo S.O Mgbada, Hon P.I Eze, prof Nnoke etc, all of the blessed memory. There was an oral charter of Equity based on gentle Men mutual understanding and agreement that 1. Ebonyi State will be divided into two blocs.. Abakaliki comprising.. Ezza North, Ezza South, Ikwo, Ohaukwu, Ishielu, Izzi, Ebonyi and Abakaliki LGAs and Affikpo comprising.. Affikpo North, Affikpo south, Ohaozara, Ivo and Onicha LGAs .That is , everything about Ebonyi State will be shared into two. 2. That if Abakaliki bloc takes state Capital, then, Affikpo bloc will take the first Governor of Ebonyi State. Based on this, it is pertinent to know that the forbears of Ebonyi State never arranged or divide Ebonyi State on senatorial ground or basis.. that is the intrinsic nature and foundation by which Ebonyi was laid. Then, after military rule, Walter Aye Feghabor came, and power was given to Dr Sam Ominyi Egwu the first executive Governor of Ebonyi State, against the non signed charter of Equity reached by the founding fathers, thereby defiling the agreed charter of Equity making Abakaliki bloc to take both the Capital Territory and the first executive Governor to the detriment and seemingly exclusion of the Affikpo bloc. When Dr Sam Ominyi Egwu finished in 2007, he never wanted to correct it, rather his wife nominated Dr Henry Aloh their family Doctor, while Governor Egwu nominated Senator Julius Ali ucha hence, Covenant 2007. In the course of this , Chief Marthin Elechi emerged on a call from president Obasanjo influenced by the Ukpabi Asikas.Making Abakaliki bloc two times of 16years. The Affikpo bloc is still there watching as a spectators. When Chief Marthin Elechi finished in 2015 as one of the founding fathers Who was there when the original foundation was laid, he never wanted to correct it. Rather he went and picked Dr Edward Nkwegu then of labour party from Ebonyi Norh of the same Abakaliki bloc.what of if Edward Nkwegu had won, it could have been twenty four years of Abakaliki bloc. Against that, the present Governor David umahi emerged through Linus okorie and Senator Anyim Pius Anyim perhaps, Her Excellency Dame patient Goodluck Jonathan. So, where is the equity. Based on this evidence of fact, Affikpo bloc should be allowed to finish the denied chance as arranged by the founding fathers Who are vibrating and agitating from the spirit world. The defilement of this intrinsic foundation maybe the reason of turmoil and disorderliness in all nooks and crannies of Ebonyi State. On the other hand, Ezza is the first born in Ebonyi State and Ekumenyj, why were we not given the first slot as the eldest son, even when it was hijacked to Ebonyi North, why was it not given to Izzi the second son, is Ezzangbo older than Izzi. When it came to central, why was it not given to Ezza, is Ikwo older than Ezza. When it went to South, why was it not given to the Affikpos or the Eddas, is uburu or Ohaozara the oldest in Ebonyi south. My people, where is the equity. The holy bible says, if the foundation of a thing is destroyed, what can the righteous do. The only equity is to compensate Affikpo bloc based on the original agreement of the founding fathers through Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii FHL, the PDP Guber flag bearer of Ebonyi State to go and ballance the equation and the political equilibrium of Ebonyi State. And after which, the elders of Ebonyi will come out on a round table and decide how it should be done subsequently. Inter alia, 2023 Governorship position is the turn of Ebonyi south zone , and the person we need that has the impeccable qualities to transform, rehabilitate, restructure and reharmonize Ebonyi State is Dr Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii FHL.
