I am a psychiatrist, researcher, lecturer, and mental health advocate.

My work sits at the intersection of mental healthcare, research, education, and advocacy, with a particular interest in improving mental health outcomes in Africa.

I share what I learn, what I discover through research, and what I see in mental healthcare, because I believe better knowledge can lead to better care.

I am still learning. Still building. Still growing.

But when I look at the journey so far, I can only say:

It ended in Praise. 🙏🏽

1. You get what you negotiate, not what you “deserve”
2. The world rewards proof, not potential
3. People respond to confidence rather than actual skill
4. You need to be respected, not liked
5. What looks like talent is consistency
6. Hitting rock bottom can be the start of a real change
7. Consuming content is not the same as making progress
8. Being clear about what you want is a major advantage
9. If you are not obsessed, someone who is will beat.
10. A lot of people are silently looking for a reason to quit
11. Your ability to focus is worth more than your degree
12. Being consistently available makes you seem less valuable.
13. A short period of discomfort can create a real long term lead
14. Being useful matters more than being likable
15. Acting on knowledge fast is a lot more important than getting more knowledge

Being broke is temporary.
Fall in love with people.
Fall in love with sales.
Fall in love with numbers.

Use speed to your advantage — you’re young, but not forever young.

Procrastination is the assassination of destination.

There are two types of people: givers and takers.
Life takes from takers and gives to givers. The accounting is always accurate. You can’t cheat it.

Work like it’s up to you, and pray like it’s up to God.
