Yesterday, my PA asked me a question. She said, what is the real story behind Ochanya?
So story time.
In 2018, (the news is still fresh in my head) a 13 year old girl named Ochanya Elizabeth Ogbanje from Benue state, Nigeria opened up to her mom, sisters and "authorities" about the sexua! abu$e and Mo!estat!on that happened to her in her aunts house.
She went there not to be a house help but to go to school as there were no schools in her community. She was just 5 when she went to stay with them. At 8 years old, her cousin named Victor Ogbuja, son to her aunt, started rap!ING her and in one of the escapades, he was caught by his sister named Winifred Ogbuja. She reported what she saw to her parents Mr and Mrs Ogbuja, who claimed to have cautioned their son, but warned and threatened Ochanya never to mention the matter outside else, they will dea! with her.
The father Mr Ochanya, now felt the gate has been open so he can also go in, started his own molestat!on, taking her from vag!na and anu$. His son Victor Ogbuja did not stop either. Remember she was just 8.
This continued for 5 good years until Ochanya was 13 and her body could not take it anymore. What this means to me is that if Mr. Ogbuja's wife was not giving it to him or satisfying him, he forcefully took it from Ochanya the 8 year old.
She developed Vesico Viginal Fistula and started passing out urine and faeces uncontrollably. This can happen when there is repeated forceful penetrat!on. So imagine going through this for 5 solid years.
Thankfully, she was able to open up to her mom and the "rightful" authorities. They arrested Mr. Ogbuja and his wife and Victor Ogbuja their son ran away. After taking the matter to court, Mrs Ogbuja was sent to 5 months prison time for negligence while the husband Mr. Ogbuja was set free for "lack of evidence". Power and money obviously changed hands and a "certain" benue state big man who happens to be the friend of Mr. Ogbuja helped him escape judgement.
Victor on the other hand is said to be in Lagos, and has become a music producer abi musician, living large and looking fresh. Winifred Ogbuja the sister who saw with her eyes but covered the matter is an upcoming Twitter influencer who runs her mouth at will...
..and oh, how about Ochanya you may ask? Her body couldn't take it any more and she unfortunately KPAID in 2018 just 2 months after giving her testimony.
In 2022, this man Mr Ogbuja was released and he is now gone back to his lecturing job in a said polytechnic in Benue. He also has history of sexua!ly molest!ng his students.
Today, Ochanya's voice cries out from her grave seeking for Justice. All we want is
