13th MONTH BONUS COMPULSORY

A few days ago, an employee in my organization approached me that we don't pay a 13-month bonus but we are supposed to pay as it's the right of every employee. I gave clarity that we pay a bonus every end of the year and it can also be called the 13th month.

He brought up a post he got from showing a calculation that since we pay on the 27th of each month, he has a balance of 3 days left each month. On that, I told him to read the difference between and . Our pay cycle is from the 21st of a month to the 20th of the next month but we pay 27th. It doesn't mean we don't pay up for every month.

He became insistent so I got angry and gave him an angry response. He then backed down. I knew it was no fault of his rather it was the fault of some people on this LinkedIn App who in the guise of getting popularity write emotional and misleading posts to gain attention and .

We must be very careful what we put on our pages for you don't know the extent of damage you may be doing in misleading people. These days, everyone is now a content writer and authority for even topics they have no idea about. We must refrain from dishing out misleading posts.

COMMUNICATION MUST BE ONE

In the voice of my General Manager HR, "My CEO" asked me if I had been appraised, and I answered in the affirmative. He then asked if ingot a from my General Manager HR who appraised me. I told him "yes".

He asked me for the exact feedback and I told him "The GM told me to strengthen between us as it appears I don't communicate often and properly as I ought to. Secondly, the General Manager was also concerned that I have to reduce how hard I go on my subordinates".

Do you imagine what would have been running through the mind of the CEO if what I said was not in tandem with what the GM said in the feedback he gave? At all times, you must ensure that your communication with your team either superior or subordinates is one.

DARE TO BE BE DIFFERENT

One thing that has kept me outstanding in all I do is that I don't follow the bandwagons. It's an unspoken tradition that native wears are for Fridays. Well for me, they are on Thursdays. My Fridays are for sporty or smart outlook.

When you wear native on Friday, you will get competition on who to compare you with. But when you wear it any other day than Friday, however, your native looks are good in the eyes of people.

Before I forget, who also told you every Sunday it must be rice and stew or rice and for akwu? For me, Sundays are for beans, or vegetable soup, or any soup at all.
At my workplace, they now know I wear my native Thursdays and not Fridays. Create a brand for yourself, create a path for yourself, and use little things to be different from others.
