A DAWN Commission survey of University of Ibadan students on the NELFUND scheme found:

- Transparency of the disbursement process — over half rated it "Moderately Transparent" (46.7%) or lower, while just 14.4% called it "Very Transparent."

- Overall satisfaction — 46.9% are Satisfied or Very Satisfied, 44.4% sit at Moderate, and 7.6% report some level of dissatisfaction.

Funmi Olonisakin: The First Black Woman Professor at King’s College London and Why It Matters for Africa

Prof. Funmi Olonisakin's journey started in Nigerian village settings, asking questions about who gets left out of the room. It led her through the UN Office on Children and Armed Conflict, an advisory seat on the UN Peacebuilding Architecture review, and work shaping the African Union's Common African Defence Policy.

In 2010, she founded the African Leadership Centre, a Nairobi-London partnership built on one premise: Africa's conflicts should be studied and understood by Africans. It has since trained hundreds of the continent's scholars and policymakers.
