How My Team and I Rebuilt RideSure from the Ground Up
Excited to share a project my team and I recently completed — a full platform migration and feature expansion for RideSure, Nigeria's peer-to-peer car rental platform.
What we built:
A production-grade platform — completely rebuilt from scratch.
Here's what we delivered:
Technical Migration
✅ Full data migration (users, vehicles, bookings, payments).
✅ Argon2id password hash compatibility maintained — zero user disruption.
✅ Cloudinary image assets preserved across migration.
Platform Architecture
✅ Three environments: PROD, UAT, and DEV — all on a dedicated VPS.
✅ CI/CD workflow via GitHub branches.
✅ WebSocket real-time chat.
✅ Queue workers and scheduled jobs.
Core Features Built
✅ Full vehicle booking flow with Paystack payment integration.
✅ Admin-assisted PREMIUM BOOKING SYSTEM with audit trail.
✅ Owner/Lister and Renter dashboards.
✅ Wallet system with withdrawal requests.
✅ In-app messaging between renters and listers.
✅ Email notifications.
✅ SMS notifications.
✅ Admin-first rejection flow with alternative vehicle matching.
✅ Filament admin panel with custom resources, reports, and analytics.
Security & Infrastructure
✅ SSL certificates across all three environments.
✅ CSF firewall configuration.
✅ Role-based access control (Lister/Owner, Renter).
✅ Email verification and 2FA support.
This project pushed every part of our stack — from DNS migration and server configuration to complex business logic and real-time features.
