Today's Verse
Why do you do the things you do? What makes you want to do more, get more, and achieve more? Paul said that love was the thing that drove him. What would happen in our lives if love was the only thing that made us want to act and do things? What if our love for those who don't know Jesus's saving grace made us want to love them more than anything else?

Let's Prayers
Please be with me as I try to make love my most compelling reason for living, O God of Eternity. I want to express my love and gratitude to Jesus for everything he has done to save me. To let others know that Jesus is the Lord of my life, I want to live for him. I want to demonstrate his love through my words and actions so that others can know and truly experience it. Bless me as I work toward this objective. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.

But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psalms 3:3
My dad would never let me walk with my head down and my shoulders slumped. "Don't forget, son, that you are a Ware. There's nothing wrong with that. Even when things are bad, you are still my son and God's child." God looks out for us and is proud to be our Father. Because he loves us, he gives us glory. We don't walk around with our heads down and our spirits down because he is our Father and gives us such good things. He gives us the victory in the end! Even when things look bad and it seems hard to win, God still loves us. Our Father paints the sunsets and keeps the stars in their places. He guarantees our future. How can we be sad when we think about this?

My Prayers
I thank you for all the various manifestations of your handiwork that I see in nature, O God of glory, majesty, and might. I thank you for creating the laws that keep our universe under control. I thank you for Jesus's atoning work on the cross. I therefore lift my heart, hands, and head to you, O God, and thank you for your grace and glory. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.

Today's Verse
I've stood over the open graves of friends, family, and strangers, so I know what death looks like, how it feels, and how weak people are. But Christ's death is a great reminder that how we see and deal with death depends on our faith. I believe that God raised Jesus from the dead, and that Jesus is the first fruit of all of us who believe in him. He is not only alive in spirit, but also has a body. We will live because Jesus did.
Prayers
Thank you, Almighty God, for the blessings of your grace, Spirit, pardon, and life. I'm most grateful for the gift of your Son, who through your salvation gave me life and immortality. Even though I don't particularly want to pass away, I am confident that I can look through death to you and your victory over me in Jesus. Give me the strength to live each day for you until the day you take me home. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.

Isn't that a lovely sentence? "God's voice thunders in amazing ways, and he does great things that are hard for us to understand." Let's praise God in prayer instead of spending a lot of time talking or thinking about how great he is.
Prayers
God is holy, just, and eternal. Only you are truly and completely holy. I love you, but I am unable to understand the far reaches of your ways. Even on my best days, you are so superior to me that I find it difficult to comprehend why you would incur such expense to save someone like me. But, Dear God, I give you my heartfelt thanks and praise. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.

The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. Psalm 25:14-15

Where does true deliverance come from? No one else. God can save us if we have a deep respect for his holiness and power, if we live in a covenant relationship with him, and if we keep our attention on him. Any other paths to freedom are false and will only lead to trouble in the end. Like a tightrope walker, who doesn't look at the ground or his surroundings, but at the rope in front of him, so must we look at the Lord. We can only be safe if we keep our eyes on him.

Prayers
Dear Father, thank you for all that you have done to save me. When I was a sinner and in defiance of your love, you, who are so holy and righteous, reached down to take my hand. Tell me how to do it. I need to right my life's wrongs. Please lead me in the paths of your truth. In addition to being saved from my sin, I also want to be saved from days of futility and frustration. Please create for me a vessel that I can use to honor you. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.

I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.I have declared, and have saved, and I have shewed, when there was no strange god among you: therefore ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, that I am God. Isaiah 43:11-12

In 1 Peter 2, we are reminded that we are here to "declare the praises of him who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light." We have seen and felt how God saves people. We are the ones who get his good things. We are the people who are waiting for him to save us in a powerful way. How can we keep our mouths shut? How can we stay angry, pessimistic, or down on ourselves? Our God is the one who made the tomb empty and turned Jesus's dead body into our living and exalted Lord. He has the power to save. He comes to save us.

Prayer
God the Mighty, I admit that I am prone to falling into a routine and becoming numb to the excitement and joy of your salvation. Give me new eyes to see and a bold voice to proclaim your mighty works, glorious deeds, and fulfilled promises. Help me demonstrate and share your glory with those who do not know you as their God, Savior, and King. I am convinced that you are leading me to glory. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.
