For a long time, many people treat rest like something they have to earn.
They tell themselves: “Let me just finish this first.” “Once everything is done, then I’ll rest.”
But the truth is, everything is rarely ever fully done.
There is always another task. Another responsibility. Another expectation waiting.
So rest keeps getting postponed. And over time, you begin to function from a place of constant tiredness, thinking that’s what it means to be disciplined.
But it’s not.
Rest is not something you add at the end, after you have exhausted yourself. It is something you build into your life, so that what you do can actually be sustained.
And that is what helps you finish well. So, if you’ve been pushing yourself without stopping, this is your reminder:
Rest is not a reward. It is part of the process.
