Meanwhile, here's the part 2 I promised.
๐๏ธ Grammar usage:
One of the reasons you may find writing challenging is because you can't construct good grammatical sentences.
To overcome this struggle, you need to know and understand some grammar rules, of which I'll explain below.
I'll share a few of these rules with you, and you can learn more when you register for Tap Writers Writing Course 2.0
1.๐๐ฎ๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ญ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ:
This rule states that if the subject is singular, the verb should be singular, likewise if it's plural, the verb should be plural. This is one of the rules of concord.
Now, some people make the mistake of using the plural verb to complement the action taken by the subject of the sentence which is incorrect.
However, it is important to note that some singular verbs come with an "s" suffix.
For example:
Runs, plays, eats, walks, writes etc.
Has, does, was, is etc.
While plural verb examples are:
Run, play, walk, write, eat (without the "s")
Have, do, were, are etc.
They and she -subject
Let's form a complete sentence following the SVO rule (subject, verb, object)
Sentence: she has escaped a second time.โ
They have escaped a second time. โ
Sometimes, people make mistakes when to use 'have and has"
Use 'have' when the subject is plural and after pronouns "I, you, they"
For instance, this statement, "you has come again" ร is incorrect.
Some people will say, since "you" signifies one person, then "has" should follow. No!
Use "has" when the subject is singular and after pronouns, "she, he, it"
For example, not, "She have come again" ร
"She has come again" โ
2. ๐๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฉ๐จ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ:
This is a common problem some people have. I once watched a video where a lady was asking someone when to use "in" and "on".
Truth is, many of us still struggle with this problem, but we hide it behind a joke and laugh it off. However, today we'll clarify some things.
Here are some rules that will help you understand common propositions like on, to, in, into, on, and onto.
โ๏ธ Use "in"
When you want to state information about time of the day, month, year, and seasons that's not really specific.
For example: She came to my house in the evening.
Tap Writers Writing Course was said to be released in May.
When to use "in time" and "on time"
I know this can be confusing to some people. However, you use "in time" when you arrive a little earlier than the stipulated time.
For example: You arrived just in time for the interview.โ
It was there in time just before the event started.โ
On the other hand, you use "on time" when you arrive at the stipulated time. Let's say you're told to come to a party or an event by 6pm, and once it's 6pm you're there. That's being on time.
"I came on time for the event". โ
โ๏ธ Use "at"
When you want to state a specific time of the day and when you want to use noon, night, and morning, for specificity.
For example: The intruders take their flights at night. โ
The goal is to be there at 6pm not 5pm. โ
โ๏ธUse "on"
When you refer to a specific day in week, month, and year.
I got married on Sunday. โ
My birthday falls on Tuesday.โ
Tap Writers Writing Course 2.0 release date falls on Wednesday. โ
