Know it once and for all.
I was just stepping out of the office and I needed to snack on something before driving home . At least that would drive boredom as I knew the traffic I was about getting into. Then I saw this woman roasting plantain and I decided to grab some . As I approached her I smiled and she did likewise .
Then we haggled the price of the plantain and when I was about to pay she didn't have my correct balance and told me that she would give me the next day.. Hmmm, that was what I wanted to use to buy stuffs for my kids as mummy oyoyo., Mummy Oyoyo.
Then I told her I wanted to use it, she then said madam as you fine reach , leave am for me nah. I promised to leave it next time .
Then she asked you be phonics teacher , I smiled and at the same time amazed because I didn't tell her what I do. I asked how did you know , she said e dey your body . Then she said na una dey talk ferk , wetin be ferk?
I replied madam there is nothing like ferk . Clapping her hands in victory , she said I talk am , even if I no go school, I know na FORK not FERK..... na so one woman come dey argue with me say na ferk.... Na so I tell am madam I no get ferk na Fork I get.
Now I was laughing so hard , because her drama was just too much . Then I wondered if a woman who told me she was uneducated and can get the right pronunciation of the word FORK, I think everyone especially tutors should learn the right pronunciation of WORDS.
It's FORK not FERK...
