I Will Defeat PDP Candidate in Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun - Ajakaye

The All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives Candidate for Ifelodun/Offa/Oyun Federal Constituency, Dr. Rafiu Ajakaye said he will defeat the PDP flagbearer during the 2027 general elections.

Ajakaye while featuring on DaimondFM Programme on Tuesday stated that the APC enjoys grassroots support across Kwara state.

He said: "I will defeat Hon. Moshood Bakare of PDP because APC is the most popular party in Kwara State. We have done well, and my integrity will make me win the election. PDP is battling with internal crisis. They are not sure if their candidates would be on the ballot in 2027.”

The former Chief Press Secretary to Kwara State Governor explained that the APC government has done well by delivering dividends of democracy to Kwarans.

Ajakaye promised to be a good representative by connecting with his constituents, when elected as a Lawmaker.

BMGS Odo Owa Gets New Classrooms, Digital Literacy Centre

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has completed the construction of a block of three classrooms with an office at BMGS Junior Secondary School, Odo Owa, in Oke Ero Local Government Area, alongside the provision of furniture and essential fittings.

The intervention also includes the installation of a Digital Literacy Centre (DLC), giving students access to improved learning facilities and opportunities to develop essential digital skills in an increasingly technology-driven world.

The newly constructed classrooms provide additional and better-equipped learning spaces, while the Digital Literacy Centre further expands the school's capacity to deliver modern and technology-oriented education.

The project reflects the Abdulrazaq administration's commitment to combining conventional educational infrastructure with digital learning facilities, ensuring that pupils across Kwara State are better equipped for the demands of the 21st-century knowledge economy.

INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY: RHYE URGES KWARA YOUTH TO EMBRACE RENEWED HOPE

The Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE), Kwara State Chapter, joins young people across the world in celebrating International Youth Day 2026.

This year's celebration is an opportunity to remind ourselves that young people are not only the leaders of tomorrow; we are also important partners in building the society we desire today.

We urge young Kwarans to embrace the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and take advantage of the opportunities emerging from the reforms and programmes of his administration. More importantly, we encourage our youth to believe in themselves, acquire skills, pursue enterprise, participate responsibly in governance and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

We also appreciate the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for his consistent commitment to youth inclusion and development. His administration has continued to give young people opportunities to serve, lead and contribute to the progress of Kwara.

For us in RHYE, youth empowerment is not just about appointments or political participation. It is about giving young people the confidence, opportunity and platform to make a difference.

To every young Kwaran, our message is simple: embrace hope, prepare yourself, get involved and take your place in building the Kwara and Nigeria we desire.

The future will not build itself. We must build it.

Happy International Youth Day 2026!

*Gov AbdulRazaq receives army battalion for Omu Aran axis, thanks President for prompt action*

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq on Tuesday received one of the battalions of Nigerian Army who are deployed to Omu Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.

The Governor, while receiving them at the 22 armoured brigade Sobi Barracks Ilorin, hailed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his swift action.

General Officer Commanding 9 Division Nigerian Army/Joint task force Operation Savannah Sheild, Major General Yakubu Yahaya, and Commander, 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi Ilorin, Brigadier General Nicholas Rume, were also present.

“We are here to welcome the troops. Our coming here is truly significant because when the Chief of Army Staff announced the deployment of brigades in Kwara we thought it is something that will take some time. We can see that they are now here hitting the ground running. Another team went to Pategi yesterday to make sure that they locate the new base there for the battalion in Pategi,” the Governor said.

“These troops are going to Omu Aran. We welcome them to Kwara and appreciate what they are doing. We also appreciate the Commander-in -Chief of Nigerian Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The Governor also commended the President’s recent approval for increased welfare packages for soldiers, saying this will go a long way to boosting their morale.

“Obviously, we came here with a welfare package to settle, but most significant is the approval by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in increasing their salaries and welfare packages, that is the major thing,” he said.

*RHYE Kwara Exposes CKAYS’ Baseless Allegations, Affirms Governor’s Support for President's Renewed Hope Agenda*

The Renewed Hope Youth Engagement (RHYE), Kwara State Chapter, has noted a statement by a group called Coalition of Kwara APC Young Stakeholders (CKAYS) alleging that the Kwara State Government under Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq denied approval for a Renewed Hope Conference.

We find it unfounded and ironic.

How can anyone question Governor AbdulRazaq’s commitment to President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda when he is the primary financier of RHYE Kwara - the youth platform mandated to mobilise young people for the President’s agenda in the state?

RHYE is not abstract. It is an organised movement, and the Governor has been its principal supporter and financier in Kwara. That fact alone should end the attempt to portray him as opposed to the President’s agenda.

If Governor AbdulRazaq were afraid of the Renewed Hope message, why would he fund the youth movement taking that message to the grassroots?

Secondly, President Tinubu’s trust in the Governor is clear. The President appointed Governor AbdulRazaq as Chairman of the Renewed Hope Ward Development Programme Committee. Such strategic appointment reflects confidence in his loyalty and competence. The President’s confidence speaks louder than political allegations.

For the avoidance of doubt, RHYE Kwara has no knowledge of any conference by CKAYS or any denial by government. If CKAYS stands by its claim, let it provide evidence:

1. When was the application submitted?
2. To which agency?
3. What venue and date?
4. Which authority denied it?
5. Where is the written proof?

Serious allegations require verifiable evidence, not insinuations.

RHYE Kwara will not allow the President’s name to be used to create friction between the President and a Governor he trusts. A Governor who funds the President’s youth movement cannot be described as an enemy of the agenda.

We remain focused on our mandate - mobilising Kwara youth for President Tinubu and communicating the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda. Kwara is firmly in the Renewed Hope family.

I join the rest of our country to celebrate His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on his 74th birthday anniversary.

H.E. President Tinubu has led our country with uncommon courage, wisdom and tact these past years. We acknowledge the gains from his bold economic reforms, especially the appreciable rise in revenue, which has contributed to infrastructural growth across subnationals.

On behalf of myself and my colleagues at the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF), I wish Mr. President good health, more grace, and longer life as he continues to work hard to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda.

HE AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON
Governor, Kwara State/ Chairman, Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF)
